i don´t see that much sense in that.
as spdif is digital you don´t need to gainstage, as the signal you send out of a spdif will be the same on the input...so if you don´t clip inside the kemper, you won´t clip the input of your soundcard
so, if the kemper sends out -2dbfs the input on your soundcard will receive -2dbfs (contrary to the analoge world, where different pieces of equipment operate with different reference-levels and headroom)
the rest is done via your monitoring mixer in your daw or soundcard

+1 on a sell/buy section
come on, if you want to profile, you need amps!!! (for example my engl fireball 100, hehe
-
sorry!
and: yes, strange!
-
before profiling, set up the 2 mics and then record a second hitting a string with your pick
zoom into the waveform and look how the signals from booth mics align...if they are not in perfect line, move one of the two mics some milimeters to or from the speaker and redo the recording...do this till the waveforms aligne perfectly.then profile

kemper support solved this problem (and quite fast too!)
thanks! -
i am a bit drunk right now, but regarding bob katz mastering audio book, downsampling must contain a fliter at half the sample rate to eliminate aliases (well, nyquist theorem as much as i know) so that would mean that the amp-profiling section (before eq and cab) downsampling to 22,050 hz would allow for not more than 11khz of audible signal...but tha analyzer shows more than 12 khz. also, as there is should be no signal beyond 11khz, a eq-boost (or presence boost) above 11khz should have no effect, as you can´t boost a signal that is not there in the first place
but proove me wrong! it´s a interesting discussion, and my theory lessons in digital signal processing happended a long time ago, so i am not quite fit in that filed anymore -
least, when boosting presence and highs i have a lot of energy up to 12khz with presence and eq set to 0, and with presence and eq bossted, 16 and more khz are shown on the analyzer, so 22khz at least can´t be true for the output after the amp-eq section

normally, with 2 output-jacks with TRS each one is balanced (otherwise you could use just one jack and be unbalanced)...
-
-
i guess they are balanced outs (TRS) but it is a pity that there is nothing in the manual about the technical specifications
ah, just found this: http://kemper-amps.com/page/re…lifier___Guided_Tour.html
so, yes, it is TRS!

I went on a few weeks vacation this summer.
When I came back there were so many new rigs uploaded on the Rig exchange I did not have the time to download to USB, put it into and load the rigs in my KEMPER, and then delete perhaps 90 % of the patches because they were not suiting me.
To compare with TC G-System, BOSS GT10 etc. that I owned, were you hook up the pedal with the computer (USB), choose a rig/patch and directly hear the result and IF you like something THEN you save it into the pedal. That is a big difference and if Kemper had an editor I would easily go thru the 300 rigs I still haven´t tried on the RIG exchange.

second that!

hi!
i have a kemper for 2 months now, and i have even posted here before, but since some weeks it is not possible for me to post in the private forum section...
any idea how to change this?
thanks a lot!
-
I guess he means switching input-presets?
-
-
no, in the input section of the kemper you only select the spdif if you want to get a signal from your computer to the input of your kemper (for reamping)
if you select the spdif as input, the your guitar won´t send a signal to your kemper (and you won´t hear anything/won´t get a signal out of the kemper to the RME)
you don´t have to configure anything on the kemper, what goes out of the main outs goes out of the spdif as well (except for the main-out eqs) -

oh, just read your newer post:
there is a BIG misconception in your thinking!
the optical in is ADAT
that is something completly different than spdif!!!
different format, differend code,...
no chance that that works!
you need to make an adapter-cable from coax to XLR and connect that from the kemper spdif-out to the RME AES/EBU in
(page 43 of the rme manual)
don´t forget to change the spdif format to consumer in the rme-settings!
