Thanks for sharing Sir!!
Hey thank you bro !
Very good!, I wish you luck, your a great player my friend!
Thank you very much Andy
It is kinda hard to keep a minimum of level when we don't have time to play guitar, but this kind of event is a challenge, and I love that
Cheers

Hi folks,
I am preparing a gig in a big french trade fair scheduled on September 6th. I dunno if the audience will be ready for this, hahaha !!
[Blocked Image: http://thegreatnothing.free.fr…%20Dge%20en%20concert.jpg]
Setlist :
Intro Tape
The Extremist
Erotomania
Schindler List
Lost Without you
Paradigm Shift (short)
Count of Tuscany (bridge)
Breaking all Illusions (short)
Encore
The Big Poprock Pinon Eden Park Medley
I shot a small rehearsal at home to know how it sounds. And the Kemper sounds great !!
I used only 2 presets (my beloved IIC+ and a SBS MarkIII clean retweaked).
Due to technical reasons of video editing, I had to cut the video in 3 parts.
Part one

Most probably a transplant project.
Most probably a transplant project.
Most probably a transplant project.
Correct bro. It is a transplant
No doubt, did you build it by yourself?
What about a second one on the other side of the board?
You see I love JP's "ground control ensemble"!
Hi yes it was made by a friend in my factory. One is enough as it weights like a tank
Very cool - especially the chromium JP-block near your floorboard!!!
Yeah the JP block is great and useful !
Hi,
I did a small gig yesterday at Pinon in France. Awesome
For the occasion, I used a small but very compact rig and P.A. The sound was simply AWESOME !!
For guitar, my Coke Toaster rig loaded with my MarkIIC+ profiles. My guitar is still my beloves Musicman JP6 Variax. Pedalboard is composed by the Variax XPS and Zoom504II for the Variax tones, and by a Korg Tuner, Ernie Ball VP6180JR and Dunlop95Q switchless wha. The MIDI pedalboard X-DIGIT is made by a french guy (byBuzz technology)
For the voice, I used a AKG D5 and a LineUX1 + laptop to get the voice and used Soundforge to launch the backing tracks. Simple but efficient !!
For the PA, it is a small Yamaha EMX212S and 2 passive Speakers (I don't remember the name).
The tone was AWESOME. Honestly, I didn't have to eq the Kemper, it was perfect as it was. a freaking pure MarkIIC+ tone, rich, fat, agressive in the low end.
The gig was great, I played some french songs with the singer, then i did an instrumental gig, with some re-arranged Dream Theater stuff, and a huge Pop-Rock Medley (Led Zep, Queen, Pink Floyd,...)
And last but not least, the beer was cold !!!! yeah baby yeah
Check it out

Display MoreHi Dje! I've been playing a lot with the MarkIIc+. I did a short demo with my Les Paul I swapped the original cab with a Marshall one (JTM I guess).
I just changed my Audio card to Quad capture & I had some phasing and recording issues , so don't bother about the sound it's just a demo.
It's very dark and very fat I love tweaking this rig.
Renaud.
here is another one ( Lead around 0:30 is also LP on markIIc+ )
Sorry for the late response, I am kinda very busy these days...
Great tone bro ! I also use a Quad Capture, perfect soundcard for the kemper, thanks to the direct monitoring feature. I use SPDIF exclusively.
No time for profiling as I have just purchased a new house and there is a lot of work in it...
In fact I only use 2 profiles with the kemper now, a tweaked MarkIII clean profile (SBS76) and the first MarkIIC+ profile. From this IIC+ profile, I made 4 presets. For instance, I lowered the gain to 5.0 to get a crunchy tone a la ACDC. For my lead, I added a pure booster in the MOD slot at +1.4db. I also dialed the existing profiles to get these "violoning" effects with my pedal volume.
I have a concert next saturday with only 5 patches based on 2 profiles.
Sometimes, the less is the best

Salut Laurent, bienvenue à toi !
These two Profiles are....PERFECT!!! WOW!!!.
If you think some PRO studio can make better Profiles than these then sell your Kemper now because it aint gonna happen.
Glad you like them I also love the results cause they have at the same time a 3D feel, creamy highs and roaring low end (through my cans). They are only a starting point. Try also the Thumas MarkIII profiles he posted here and perhaps apply the same post eq, amp settings and so on. He is a huge Hetfield fan and he even profiled his slaved MarkIII through a Marshall, like Hetfield did in MOP if I remember correctly.
Display MoreHey
Okey now i adjust some of those youtube settings whit you`r profile ,and i was recording again some metallica test. You`r profile is left channell on the track and end of song there will come in the right channell same tone and setting second guitar.
Here is link for that test!
I love it !! good job bro
Hi Dimebucker,
Yes this is exactly the idea to get the raw tone. Moreover, you can low the amp settings (Bias, etc...). This will give you a way more dry tone. I dialed the profile to get a very "in the room" tone, so I abused on the amp settings to get this.
cheers
Hi
I used almost the same settings than yours including the graphic eq settings ! However, I was meaning that reworking the graphic eq in the X would meet your expectation
Hey bro, afte looking at the settings, they seem to be the same that t he JP settings I used for profiling
However the extra eq brings this huge difference. I think playing with graphic eq will bring you there
Yeah that rocks !!
To give a better idea of the result I have, I recorded a small clip and included it in the webpage (headphone logo)
Honestly, for me my Quad capture has zero latency through SPDIF and direct monitoring.
This soundcard is a keeper for me. Very transparent to me also (I A/B the headphone out of the Kemper and the Heapdhone out of the Quad Capture).
Dje
How close do you think the profile is to representing the true amp? For me 90-95%
> I profiled then tweaked the tone to get through my AthM40Fs headphone the closest tone possible what I have in my room with my amp, this is why I use the Bias, Tube etc settings. What I get with the profiles in fact is this typical low end which lacks to all the MarkV profiles I found here. You know you capture easily the creamy tone with the high E, B ang G strings, but with the lower strings, something fails... there is not this "brutal" factor.
Moreover I use a JazzIIIXL black. I mean it is very important as the 2 profiles were custom dialed for my playing. I tried the same profiles with small JazzIII and it sounds very different. Moreover MarkIIC+ is a so versatile amp that it is quite difficult to get a "typical MarkIIC+" tone. The cabs are also important of course. Some guys will prefer the EVL12, other the recto cabs...
Finally Petrucci is not for me the best representation of the MarkIIC+, except on the "6 degrees" song. Honestly, he gets almost exactly the same tone with a MarkIV, a MarkV and a MarkIIC+ when you hear the different isolated tracks, because his playing has a huge role and he dials his amps to get always the same tone.
However, to get a real IIC+ idea, go to youtube and listen to the Petruccirocks02 vids, this IS IMHO a MarkIIC+ amp with Recto cab in action "in the room". Petrucci solo in Goodnight Kiss is the typical MarkIIC+ Lead recorded Tone.
This is of course my own opinion. You can disagree
Renaud,
Envoie moi un PM
I personnally love the transpose, way much better than the LINE6 variax feature I also have. It tracks very well and is very fast. It doesn't suck that much the tone (I rise in the graphic eq the 10khz band to compensate the "air" loss).
I don't need a 7 string anymore. I use the Eb, D, C and B tuning now.
