cool, I have 2 vertical 2x12 cabs. 1 loaded with kones and 1 loaded with UK V30's.
How have you got them both hooked up to your Kemper?

Which Gator bag is that? Don't worry found it
Display MoreHi everyone. Wondering how I would wire a Marshall 1960a for two Kones and two guitar speakers.
I have ordered a 212 set of cones but don't have a 212 cabinet at the moment. But I was wondering whether I could install them in my Marshall 1960a that has the stereo switch. Currently the cab has the stock GT12-75s which are 16ohm speakers.
I am considering installing the Kones on one side of the cabinet and leaving the GT12-75 speakers on the other side but running the cab with the Stereo switch engaged so either the Kones or the GT12-75s are used depending on which jack is connected (or both if running another amp into the GT12-75 side). There is no real reason why I am doing this other than curiosity and to have a bit of fun before getting a 212 cabinet.
Being new to this and not really understanding the Marshall stereo switch workings I wonder if wiring the Kones in series for 8ohms on one side and the GT12-75s wired parallel on the other side would work. The cab would not be switched to mono mode (stereo switch will always be engaged). Drawing attached.
Yes this is stupid but what I want to know is whether it is possible or if this would be detrimental to my power amp (ISP Stealth).
Curious as to how you're going to connect your kemper to it via the amp. To use the kones you need the monitor output which bypasses the cab. How are you going to feed the G12T's as you'll need another cab bypass feed?
Direct profiles will work as well, since there is no cab section. Basically all three types, you just have to turn off the cab section in the output menu.
Providing that you don't want to feed the main outputs to FOH as there won't be a cab.
Except that the Line 6 powercab 1x12 was released in April 2018 way before the kemperkab was announced so it was original back then

Yes! A small sway up or down a few clicks is a good range for adjustment on quite a few gainy profiles. But this is not always the case as the are other parameters to counter act drastic changes to the amount of gain.
Then there's that range from 0.0 to 3.0 or so on some profiles where theres a lot of flavor range. As opposed to 7.0-10 where there doesn't seem to much of a difference.
To the OP the answer can be both in my experience. Some need a 1 or 2 clicks more , some need 1 or 2 less. In this regard. But a 3 or can be achieved but that is pushing it and more rare i think. My thing is you're gonna find a that .5 or 1 or 2 plus or minus is the range to go to and if that doesn't work, find a new profile.
Cheers!
This is what I've been doing. I've been loading a profile that's got the gain on maybe 5 or 6 leds and reducing it to 2-3. I think it sounds marginally better than taking a profile with 0 gain and adding 2-3.
it is subtle though
Thanks guys,
Down it is
If I want a certain gain level on a profile, is it better to load a lower gain profile and turn up the gain, or load a higher gain profile and reduce the gain?
Or does it even matter?
Sash, you don't connect them digitally?
Didn't occur to me at the time Might give it a go
Absolutely, on the Kemper you can allocate any programme change to any of the performance slots so you can select any of the HD500's patches (0-64) in the same setlist. That's why I wired it that way round. Using the HD500 as the master controller was too restrictive as it would be so much effort to change the order for the next gig.
Sometimes for ease of use, I don't bother with wiring the HD500 into the Kemper other than the midi cable. I just plug the HD500 out into the Kemper guitar in and the variax passs straight through so it's only powering and selecting the models.
Cheers
I initially integrated my HD500 into the Kemper to power my JTV59. I had to use the Kemper as the 'master' patch organizer as the HD500 programme changes weren't flexable enough. The programme change numbers are fixed to 1A = 01 -1D = 04 etc, Also there was no way to use in Kemper performance mode as you couldn't select the 5th slot.
My connections were JTV59 > HD500 (VDI) >send to Kemper > Kemper out (-18db) to HD500 Return, HD500 out to CLR. Kemper midi out to HD500. I used the Kemper Remote to select the Performance which then selected the patch on the HD500 with the corresponding JTV assignments. As it was a 4 cable method I could also use the extra effects in the HD500 or bypass the Kemper for the accoustic patches in the HD500. I could also use dual amps (Kemper and HD500) if required.
In Workbench HD you can also create a blend of a model and the magnetic PU's and save it. I think that is output on the 1/4" as well as the digital so you don't need to run both cables.
Seems like they've addressed it in 4.02.
fixed: Contrast of Profiler Display memorized during restart
I'll test when I get home
Thanks
I have this as well. The contrast value gets reset to 128 everytime the Kemper is switched on. Do you know if a ticket has been raised for this?
Cheers
It's up on the Kemper website now in all it's glory. Looks nice
Thanks guys for a decisive answer. No ambiguity there!
Agreed - Pitch and harmonies in the "X" slot. Transpose in the A Stomp slot.
So you would put the transpose directly after the input before any other stomps?
Simon
Is there a 'best' position for the pitch stomps within the kemper, i.e. is the Transpose or Harmony stomps better pre or post the amp block?
Cheers
Simon
Hi Andy,
I've just re-downloaded Bundle 4 but Bens patches are not in the Gilmour HiWatt folder. Are they only in the Amp single?
Cheers
Simon
Looking forward to those
