Hi, Per.
Under the heading of "you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone", I miss your illustrations. I was enjoying the new direction in some of the later ones. I understand that you've been busy, and I'm not asking that you put that back on your daily list.
I wanted you to know that I appreciate your visual art too.
Hey there ChuteBoxHero.

Hi, Per.
Catskill Park - I enjoyed the arrangement's sparseness, especially the drums' simplicity. This let me appreciate the delicate melody and gentle interweaving of the bass.
This one marks a year of #noodlechallenge not sure if I've improved any, but I feel like I learnt... things
A lot has happened over the last year, and it's been harder to make the time to check in like I used to - but I make a point of listening to your daily noodles - I hope, every one.
Not because you need the practice to get better, but because it can be joyful and inspiring, and human. I like your voice, enjoy your singing, and cringe when you denigrate your voice.
When I read the comments and suggestions about mixing and mastering, I'm happy for you and grateful to the contributors. I'm glad you have people willing to listen closely, and who care enough about you and your music to offer their impressions, observations, and suggestions.
At the same time, I want to say, "Do what you do, and you be you. If you follow all the rules and conventions, you too can sound like the mass-produced music churned out by the machine."
I'm sure someone famous said something like Learn to play it like they do, and then never do that again.
A little background - As part of a personal project, I tromp around through nature for several hours every day (today made 1,187 consecutive days). I take snapshots with my phone and create an album every day for a couple of people who live far away but are close to me. They are no longer ambulatory. Sometimes the album is just a historical record that I got outside and where I went. Sometimes the album has a central theme and a story. The albums can be about what I want to say on that day, what I imagine those other people will want to see, and sometimes, it's just a way to bring those folks along with me.
A month ago, my seven-year-old phone finally died, and I got a new phone. I also got a mirrorless camera and a nice zoom lens (1421 grams total)*. That's just a shade under three pounds and 4.5 times the weight of my new phone. I knew nothing about digital photography.
Here's what I've learned so far
A decent digital camera packs an incredible amount of technology (mine has 53 menus of features, each with multiple options)
All the technology is exciting and fun
- and it's heavy (probably closer to 2268 grams (5 pounds) with the accessories and bag)
- and it slows me down (and for the first time in over a decade, my back hurts)
- and it has distracted me from subject, composition, and lighting - the only things I could manipulate with the camera in my old phone
- I used to create an album out of the daily photos in under 20 minutes. Today it took four hours. I can get lost in post-production (longer than it takes to walk 20 k)
- I've started shooting for the post-production process instead of the moment
I've spent lots of time over the past month learning about the technical process of getting a well-exposed picture. This is critical because I usually start my trek in the dark around 3:30 am.
In an analog to mixing and mastering, there are all kinds of amazing things you can do to manipulate a photo after the act of taking the shot. For example, you can take several bracketed shots (different exposures) of the same scene and then compile them to get more dynamic range (more highs and lows) than you can get in a single photo. Or you can take several photos and stitch them together to make a bigger picture. And for those who know about this stuff, there are probably 20 things you can manipulate in post. Today I tried a process** that reads the gyro data from a video, and it makes a hand-held video look like it was shot with a gimbal.
For most of the last month, my albums have been a visual record of my experiments with the technology, as I inadvertently lost the thread of my stories.

With great respect Per, congratulations on this milestone.
Congratulations, Kim!
Thanks ST !
Haha, I think it’s more it feels like it’s taking an eternity where I’m mostly spending an hour turning an EQ on/off wondering if it’s better or not before I give in and admit it definitely sounds *much* better, and then finding it was applied to a muted track…
And this is why I don't record.
I enjoyed that immensely. Thank you.
You must live in a dimension where time expands infinitely when you're in the zone.
Thanks Burkhard
For those following along. How very cool to see the Ibanez GB10 (George Benson) running into the Profiler.
Well seen Hoki Toki

Hi, Gommeco.
I suggest you open a support ticket here.
Things to try while you wait since it's the weekend.
If you're running Windows, I'd guess that the device driver didn't install correctly. Go into Windows Device Manager and check for broken drivers. If it shows a problem, uninstall Rig Manager and install it again.

Does the L5 have a fine & narrow neck like my copy (J6s washburn) ?
it's round on mine but small & perfect for my not so big hands.
These guitars are really fantastic , and their sound is un-matchable I use mine lots , mainly on the neck pickup , but the bridge is super cool for rockabilly , surf & blues.
with some double stops and slide jazzy licks , you really feel like Lee Ritenour or Wes, playing those huge ladies I use mine sit and and reduce the tone pot for this classic jazz tone. A spring verb is welcome ,and go for some warm sounding profiles.
Hi Renaud,
Yes, the neck is narrow. The shape is like this.
What a sweet ole girl.
It sure is. Sadly, it doesn't get much play time since I got this PRS JA-15.
Today I decided to just do whatever I wanted on the mix and not care.
Yes to this.
I am inspired by the fact that you do these daily noodles. Does it matter what anyone (here) thinks of them? I know you appreciate the feedback you get, and still, I wonder if it is enough that we acknowledge what you're doing.
Keep just doing what you want, Per. I'm in awe.
I've had this one for going on 28 years. The only thing new is the camera.
Gibson Wes Montgomery L5 CES
Not a new guitar (Santana MD), but a new camera.
