really digging the fuzz pack.
no comercial direct amp profiles should ring a bell or it´s to soon ?
did a quick test today
KPA ( with the last FW ) -> Bad Cat Unleash power amp ( FX return ) -> real cab with 1 Greenback
played a few random profiles created with various FW , and basiclly , they sounded / reacted the same way , some darker other brighter.
btw , the KPA still sounds amazing when used in the "right" way. (studio monitors , headphones etc. )
But Fuck - Bugera V55 HD?
Stay Metal!
the KPA only have two amps: clean and overdrive.
the "character" is in the cab sim
they all sound the same to me , with diferent eq., didnt notice any "caracter" change.
I think M Britt profiles ( and the KPA of course ) are a great lesson in how much the cab / mic affects the overall tone.
they are all the same cab / mic combination , the diferences between amps are not abysmal.
imho , its really hard to capture the complete "soul" of an amp with just a couple mikes.
same with recordings , how many times did you ask yourself what amp is the artist using ?
I did several profiles in 3.0 and 3.1 , with same amp and same settings ( eq, gain etc. ) only changing mic positions.
playing these profiles with cabs off, DI or into an real cab they all sound basic the same.
how the profiler captures exactly the amp "soul" even with diferent mic position puzzles me.
its magic ?
Yup, sorry I meant 'Direct Amplifier Profiling'.
Kosta, can I ask why you'll hang onto you're original amps? (Not that I think I won't, just interested in the specific reasons).
Is it partly that, unless you create a large number of profiles for each amp (with multiple channels, gain stages...etc), you will loose some versatility?
when I plug into my amps , theres no second guess "does it sounds like a real amp ?" . it does , its a real amp.
also im very happy with my live sound , using a KPA in that scenario would be going back and fine tunning everything.
for now money is not a problem , so im keeping yhe best of both world ( real and emulation )
I did a few DI and studio profiles with the 3.0 and they sound close, they could sound even better with more effort
but im not selling my fav amps.
as amazing as the KPA is , is just another tool.
Hi.
The direct profile is the studio profile with cab off or DI profile ?
I have upgraded and noticed 3 issues so far:
did one DI profile and one studio profile and couldnt find the cab from my studio profile.
turning off an on solved that one.
DI profile of one clean amp turn out really distorted no matter what,
Studio profile went fine , light cab on but sounded like without cab.,
same thing happen to me.
also trying to profile an clean amp DI , come out really distorted.
funny since my two first profiles with the same firmware turnout ok.
no more profiling until this bugs get fixed.
o KPA tá cheio de bugs pá !
Merry Christmas to everyone !
Ive just uploaded a couple of profiles.
The amp: RAT modded Blackheart BH5 ( http://www.ratvalveamps.com/rat-amp-gallery ).
Maybe nothing to exotic , but sounds fab imho .
Several speakers , with a few pedals pedals , miked mostly with an sm57 ( in lazy mode ) , some with one condenser + sm57.
Some may sound a bit raw, so be carefull......
Thanks for this pack.
merry xmas !
this pack sounds ace !
juyce , fat , very natural.
Thank you Kemper and Ace
Sounds great and great vibe !
They sound great.
Pete , one question:
Are the Ampeg flip top profiles just for guitar ? no cleans for bass ?
Olá e bem vindo !
4. synth guitar Fx with real oscillators.[/quote]
+1
that would be great !
