Another layout suggestion - more space between gain and EQ knobs, and EQ and rig volume knobs - like on the kemper
And may I say - it does look smashing!
And now? (added input and output section -(searching for nrpn 's - still working on it)

I want this ToiletCab
Did you try profiling when you flush the water??? -
And what is the conclusion of this thread ?? I dont get it:/
If you like KPA then you can buy KPA and vice versa. -

That looks great!
Two small suggestions: The darker area of the amp section - could that be split up into two areas (one for definition-compressor and one for clarity-direct mix), to mirror the page layout in the kemper? And then have the cab section volume and amp section volume on their own black area, one above the other, to the right (if that makes sense in any way). Or whatever looks best
Volume for amp and cab are the same parameter(also in KPA) - no sense for me to doubling it.Besides - do you have a cab with volume pot ? About the split - yes it is possible but i don't think that reflecting ideally KPA layout can improve things - only make it more complicated instead of simplification. It's just my opinion .
But let's go for a compromise:

Cool, thanks for the mockup!
Personally, I would keep the EQ and gain (and rig volume) that are accessible on the front face on the kemper in the main area of the plugin (i.e. not under the tabs).
And then I would group the "deeper" parameters like they are grouped on the KPA, with some graphic separators to quickly identify them (like the frames around the stomps). So page one under the amp parameters in a slightly visually separated group (definition, sagging, pick and compression), and a group for page two (Tube shape, direct mix, tube bias, clarity). Arranged in the same order as on the kemper.
Maybe like this?

@ DamienGreda what editor are you using for code in .panel? I'm only experienced in Visual Basic and HTML but I'll take a look. Also I tend to agree with @Michael_dk in a way that if the parameters for ex., Amplifier, could be set up to reflect pages 1-3 just like on the KPA this may be more user friendly to everyone overall. Just a thought, but excellent job so far.
Scripts are i LUA language (http://www.lua.org/). I'm also new to this:)

Sorry, can't see the image But I guess that I can just rearrange the knobs to my personal preference in the ctrlr program, if i understand correctly...

Sorry I didnt realize that:)Yep - you can rearrange modulators like you want:) But I'm open for suggestions:)

After trying it, a short question: Is it made only to change some rig parameters for one rig to load in by computer?
When i change a rig in my kpa, nothing appears in the panel, i have to push "get rig tags", then it comes up. When it comes up, all stompboxes in the panel are empty, but in my kpa they are filled with an effect.
So what is the real benfit of this program? Could i see and organize my rigs or performances like f.e. in the pod midi programm i used years ago?
When its only a surface to change things in a rig, i think it goes much quicker by hands on the kpa. With a mouse it takes longer time.
I dont want to small your work, but id like to understand the intension behind it, so dont be angry about my questions. Maybe i have not seen functions.This is just begining - we are trying to get all components values from your currently selected rig by click get rig tags button Next step will be reflect all changes in KPA ino the editor. There is a lot work to do I think performace editor should also be possible. But now I think the priority is to achieve basic function to work.

Ah, admin works. But when i will load the panel the failure " open failed: Profine 2626 MIDI" arrives.
No connectition to my kpa.
I put in: Midi cable from profiler midi out to interface midi in and the other midi cabel goes from interface midi out to kpa midi in.
When i start the program and load the panel, there is a rig name AC clean sm 57 inside. Nothing moves when i push a button (for example stomp A on/off with a loaded EQ).
On the top menu of the program you have a MIDI option- just select your device in Input , Controller and Output. -
Would it be possible to put all the amp tweaks and cab tweaks on ONE page (i.e. definition, clarity, high shift etc), so it is easy to see when browsing rigs if anything has been tweaked here on the current rig? Some people (including myself) like to know what has been edited after the profiling, and that is quite a hassle today to do on the kemper. Having it on ONE page in the plugin would make it so much easier
This is only a proposition - how about that - what do you think? It will be more clear?
[Blocked Image: https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get…qzfA3s80eFBCZH1tFIfY3ov6A]Hi, i have downloaded the win version, but i cant install it. Ihve chosen the 64 bit binary marks and dropped of the 32 bit marks.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ctrlr is my destination folder.
When i pushed the install button Error opening file for writing appears, when i push the ignore button the next error arrives. What can i do?
Like Sandokan71 wrote
Try to right click on installer and run as administrator. or download this standalone version https://www.dropbox.com/s/r9xie7sqnq5toqu/KPA.exe?dl=0 -
Hi, couldt you give a direkt download link to try it?
Do i have to connect my kpa like the everglades programm to my laptop (Midicabel out of my interface to kpa midi in?). I dont like the everglade surface and functionality very much and id like to try yours.Regards Frank
You have to download main program from here : WIN version http://ctrlr.org/nightly/Ctrlr-5.2.102.exe
Then you have to download a panel and open it up in the ctrlr program.
This is link for version :http://www.kemper-amps.com/for…1-0-2015-04-06-12-10-zip/?
or
https://www.dropbox.com/s/wz44…2015-04-06_12-10.zip?dl=0You have to connect to your interface via MIDI cable - and if you want to download a rig name to the program you have to connect KPA midi out to midi in to yor interface.
Edit:
This is standalone version for win so you dont have to install ctrlr : https://www.dropbox.com/s/r9xie7sqnq5toqu/KPA.exe?dl=0 -
^ Damian and guy.
And yea, I'm loving this. I'm at work so I can't check it, but can we change output settings and clean sens etc in the standalone? And what about changing cabinet settings, low end etc and stuff like the parameters for effects?
As for the design, it's minor IMO. It's simple to use and navigate right now. I love it.
How would DAW Support differ to what we have now?
Do you mean can we implement clean sense and output settings? Yea - why notBoth Solved!
- "Stomp C" issue -> removed duplicated "Stomp D" switch over "Switch C" into user interface.
- "Get Rig tags" issue -> changed the midi cable ... now it is ok!Thank you
Great to hear that:) in a fact there was a duplicated stomp switch - sorry:) -
Hi Damian,
From my side i tried to read some strings for values such as amp gain, Eq settings (Bass, Mid, Treb; Presence) ,rig volume and for the rig tempo that was added in the "next to implement" panel
It starts to work but as i call this function for each controller change, it's a lot of requests to the KPA and then everything freezes.Do you know how to call a script when for instance, a mous event occurs , such as left button released ?
It would solve my problem.To give you an idea, here is the panel : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.….0_2015-04-06_00-22.panel
and here is the rendering on a mac : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/74887749/Capture d%27%C3%A9cran 2015-04-06 00.28.51.png
Regards,
Thanks:) Nice peace of code in LUA:)
I just thinking that using MIDI to update strings may generating too much traffic . And its better to save this traffic for live feedback from KPA?
For values of sliders we may use LUA script to calculate dB from MIDI value for example:
20*log10(modulatorvalue/16383)
of course we can then process the results do display similiar value like in KPA.
What do you think? -
So basics for any developer out there:
You have to put a function in the main panel that will recive a message:
midiMessageReceived = function(midiMessage)
s = midiMessage:getSize() -- Size of the midi dump received
ProgramDataLoaded = midiMessage:getData() -- create a memoryblock with the data dump
recKPAID = midiMessage:getLuaData():getRange(1,3)
recFunctionCode = midiMessage:getLuaData():getByte(6)
Instance = midiMessage:getLuaData():getByte(7)
recNrpnMSB = midiMessage:getLuaData():getByte(8)
recNrpnLSB = midiMessage:getLuaData():getByte(9)console ("\tpatch name as memory block: "..recFunctionCode)
if recFunctionCode == 3 then
if recNrpnMSB == 00 then
if recNrpnLSB == 01 then
programName = midiMessage:getData():getRange(10,s-12):toString() -- create a memory block with the synth engine data, leaving the header
panel:getModulatorByName("Rig_Name"):getComponent():setProperty("uiLabelText",programName,false)
console ("\tpatch name as memory block: "..ProgramDataLoaded:toHexString(1))
elseif recNrpnLSB == 04 then
programName = midiMessage:getData():getRange(10,s-12):toString() -- create a memory block with the synth engine data, leaving the header
panel:getModulatorByName("Rig_Comment"):getComponent():setProperty("uiLabelText",programName,false)
console ("\tpatch name as memory block: "..ProgramDataLoaded:toHexString(1))
elseif recNrpnLSB == 02 then
programName = midiMessage:getData():getRange(10,s-12):toString() -- create a memory block with the synth engine data, leaving the header
panel:getModulatorByName("Rig_Author"):getComponent():setProperty("uiLabelText",programName,false)
console ("\tpatch name as memory block: "..ProgramDataLoaded:toHexString(1))
end
end
end
end
in this example you will see how to update the other components, -
Can I put what is on the Kemper on to the program? So I want the profile that loads up to be on the screen without having to input it all.
Thanks!
OK - now you can get the actual Rig Name , Rig Author and Rig comment by clicking "Get Rig Tags" button
You can modify this and click "Send Tags to KPA " button and store in the KPA.https://www.dropbox.com/s/rm0p1mzkt9kq5ii/KPA_1_0_KPA1.0_2015-04-05_12-08.zip?dl=0
[Blocked Image: https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get…G7JjZoITa-nkdhIgp3zSYCPHw]Cool.
You're doing an amazing job. What else are you working on?
Thanks:) Call the feature and I will try to do this. Anyone can add something to this project.
I wand to do some live feedback from the KPA - but still waiting for answers from KPA team -

Great idea having such a piece of software. Nice controls, very clear interface!
Just one question: What advantages will this project have versus this one?

Hmmm... You use a lot of words I don't quite understand, I fear
I would personally be most interested in tweaking on the computer, I think, since that's what the panel is for. So maybe the panel could receive the parameters every time the rig is changed? Or maybe just a button on the panel requesting all the parameters?
sorry for my bad english:(
