The new Gibson management is doing very bad work , trying to increase profit by introducing very cheap materials , no quality control , huge tuning issues ,all in all completely sub-standard guitars . In the same time they are shamelessly expensive for given quality . Such a business strategy is killing Gibson/Les Paul brand name slowly but surely
I have been hearing this over, and over, and over lately, in many different circles. Its one thing when you hear one person complaining about something, but quite another if you hear a consistent theme across different channels. If I was in the market I would be looking for an older, used model. I love my circa '71 so thats one era I would be looking.

yeah, I failed to give proper credit.

I am assuming you mean 'free' rig since that is the forum you posted in... so for me the obvious choice since I haven't delved to deeply:
Morgan AC20

I was just planning on getting pack #2 myself! LOL!

Word to the wise: get the Dumble pack if you don't have it already.

If your Clean Sens is set properly, will you still get volume increase with gain increase?

I have 3-4 different auto-wah/envelope filter settings now that I saved for different songs. Love how versatile the Kemper is in letting me one stomp in so many different ways.

Thanks everyone. I went entry-level with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 as for now, I am just going to build rough demos of songs for live play with my band. Once I have a handle on it I will decide if I need to upgrade. Thanks again!

thanks guys!

Any recommendations for entry/mid-level audio interface for use between Kemper and Mac?
-
I guess, but it amounts to the same thing: a bunch of 'extra' profiles I have to delete.
-
I don't think its a language issue - I don't think Paul understood my requirement.

Still tweaking but here are some settings I came up with to emulate 'typical' Grateful Dead use of envelope-following filters a.k.a. Auto-wah:
JG
Manual: 0.6
Peak: 8.6
Pedal Range: +50%
Peak Range: -8%
Pedal Mode: Touch
Mix: 100%
Ducking: <0.0>
Touch Attack: 5.0
Touch Release: 0.5
Touch Boost: 0.8
Volume: +0.5BW
Manual: 9.5
Peak: 9.2
Pedal Range: -79%
Peak Range: -77%
Pedal Mode: Touch
Mix: 100%
Ducking: <0.0>
Touch Attack: 2.0
Touch Release: 0.5
Touch Boost: 0.8
Volume: +0.5 -
Sorry if this has been covered before - can't seem to find an answer using search.
Background requirement: I want to save 'custom' stomp box settings as a sort of global default I can call up for future use. I also want to be able to go back and edit them and save the tweaked global default outside of a performance. Right now, I am attempting to do this from Performance Mode and storing the custom stomp box separate from the performance so I can call it up later.
Lets say I just called up a stored custom stomp box: after I go in and tweak the settings, I go to store the tweaked 'custom' stomp box. What I have tried is storing with the same name (i.e. Auto Wah 1) and instead of overwriting/updating the current version it creates a new one with the same name. (I think I have five Auto Wah 1's right now)
So the question is how can I create a custom stomp box, save it so it is 'globally' available, and then be able to go back and edit it and save/store it as the same global custom stomp box. Being able to edit the name without creating a duplicate would be helpful too.
Hopefully that makes sense. I want the global custom to be sort of a baseline I can pull into a performance and then be able to either tweak and save it only to the performance itself, or to be able to tweak and save to the global custom. Apologies if I beat a dead horse with detail. Thanks in advance.

If you read carefully what I want is the DI guitar signal with the possibility of adding the effects(comp, boost, chorus and so on)
I think its safe to say that we all read it carefully. I think its also safe to say that we all find your requirement unusual - hence the way we approached responding.
Using the Kemper for its effects only is going to be overkill at best - sort of like using a flamethrower to kill a spider. If all you want is effects for your Blues Deville you might as well just invest in some other solution such as the Line 6 M13 or rindividual stomp boxes and keep your Kemper in the studio. The risk of using it live soley for the effects far outweighs any value you might get.

Cross post alert!

What amp are you using? It should have a way to bypass the pre-amp stage on the amp and just use the power amp section - but it sounds like you are trying to run the Kemper through the pre-amp (i.e. where you plug the guitar in). Look on the back of your amp - there should be either an effects loop (use the return) or direct into the power amp. try that with the kemper.

It does seem like the Kemper picks up more than other amps do - at least more than my Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue. The noise is there but no where near as prominent as with the Kemper. But I guess I see that as a plus since I get a lot more of the tonal nuances from my guitars with that added sensitivity.
Must make it a bitch to record with in the studio though - I'd like to try some home recording but not sure I can do it at my house!
