Like the colour - must be a flash thing on stage!
-
Welcome back! Sorry I'm late.
-
Yep! I'll second that...
-
@Raoul23 @waraba @Nikos @hal2000 thanks for your input guys! I really appreciate that.
I'm thinking of budget 2000 Euros max if I can still use my iMac for the DAW.
That Roland Quad capture looks good for 200 Eurodollars
I might have a look at the KRK 8 active monitors. They seem to be quite useful.
I have an oldish Yamaha mixer 4 (8) track, a D7 mike and a Roene studio mic with valve preamp. The DAW might make the mixer obsolete... unless I want to mix something down beforehand... -
The title says it all. Maybe this has been covered elsewhere. The idea is to find out what others do and how they get on with what they've got.
I'm at the stage where I'd just like to record what funky stuff comes from my fingers and we'll see what happens next. It'd be great just to point me in the right direction. Don't worry about budget.
Thanks -
Yep, mine pops when turning off too. I hear this transistor thump through my Matrix FR212.It's independent of master volume Each time it fair scares the cr*p out of me, especially after a late night noodling session (some people go visit the refrigerator at night - I go and noodle on the guitar- I'm already awake from the warm milk and cookies).
Truth is, I'm too lazy/dumb/forgetful/incompetent * to make a switch and put it between the Kemper out and the cabinet. Gettin' old I suppose
*delete as appropriate

Remote. Pug'n play... Sigh!
-
No Probs spark240. I always find out something new when I'm noodling, which I mainly do at home. Then I look at the reference manual and find it there too. Funny huh?
-
Hi there!
It might be worthwhile reading the manual.
Here goes and off the cuff but to points:
1. No, but you can use a volume pedal.
2. Yes, read the manuals. They are available as pdf downloads on the Kemper website.
3. Performance mode enables you to group your (up to 5 ) profiles together and to toggle between them. Easier for on stage.
They have their own effects stomps etc. As I said, best read the manual. There´s the introductory and reference parts. Best read the introduction for an overview and then go to the appropriate reference parts.
It´s worth it.
If you wait a little, one of the other boys´ll surely be there to tell you more, but I am not so good at explaining all of this.
Light the blue touch-paper and enjoy! It´s quite package you´ve got there! -
By different, I meant that one is a rack/amp style processor that's prime selling point is its amp profiling, while also being capable of doing most or all of your your effects.
Whereas the Helix flips that on its head. It is built with the idea of being a complete solution, but a complete solution with good modeling. But without a powered option. That's why they led their advertising campaign with the floor model, not the rack and controller. Thus their design concepts are different. Their overlap is that both are capable of being an entire solution to a guitarist's amp/effect/routing needs, minus a speaker and power for the Helix and unpowered Kempers. Both are great products with the Kemper being king of amp tone and Helix being king of routing and the only one offering a floor-only option.
Put another way. Suppose you owned both? Would you put the Kemper with it's amazing profiles in a Helix loop and control with Helix's midi? Or would you put the Helix in the Kemper's loop and control with Kemper's midi, opting to using all of Kemper's effects with the Helix's amp models? Obviously the first option.
I wonder what those "awfully nice" folks at Fractal (version whatever) have to say on this issue... -
Ok. then tell us whether you like it when you've bought one...
I have more than enough to go on:
Japstratt 1992; LP; PRS408; Mastercaster (ex. Matthias Jabs). -
That's how to produce a "sweet sound" . Sure melts in the mouth!!!!
Reminds me of "Custard Pie" sweet and nice... c'mon baby, save me a slice ...
-
Anyway, I don't mind what people use to make music as long as it sounds musical...
If there were only the Kemper available, imagine how this forum would look - totally overrun by show-casers, know-alls and competitive twits like me - Pure Hell.
Diversity results in harmony!
-
As he says in his post, he plans to use it for the amp sims direct for fly gigs. Believe it or not, some people like the Helix' amp sims as much as Kemper's.
Yeah, I have heard about this somewhat strange behavioural trait. There have been sporadic reported sightings of myopic individuals squinting at the floor and madly stamping for the correct sim, whilst trying to keep up on the same riff... And maintaining a cheesy grin
It's a devilish thing... -
OMG! That is a lot of money!
-
Welcome back to the future buddy! There´s bin a lot happening since you´ve been away...
-
Yep, very beautiful to look at and sounds mighty fine in the right hands...
-
It´s not clear from your post as to whether you are actually playing a clean or high gain profile set. As @Monkey_Man aka Nicky says, it´s not easy to troubleshoot this blind.
Fair dinkum if I´ve got this all backwards btw...
-
Welcome to the group. They feel different because they are detent selector switches and the knobs will feel a little looser. You are fine...
There´s the answer then...
