it's taken a while folks but here it is.
https://norburybrook.bigcartel…d-generation-70-s-50w-ods
EDIT: 30-9-2018.
direct downloads available now from the 'kemper Profiles' section of
perfect recreation of the 1970's Dumble overdrive special 50w combo.
EDIT: It seems this is the same amp Andy Brauer rented out in LA and was used on the classic solos for 'Beat it' Dancing on the Ceiling' and 'Rosanna' among others
there are 40 profiles in this pack including Studio and DI
naming:
There are Clean settings with various pre amp volumes, that will be the number on the profile.
there are some profiles with 'Deep' switch in; DP 'Bright' switch BR.
Then there are 'Overdrive' settings: OD
There are also settings using the FET, this is what David Lindley used as his sound.
the FET is basically a very high quality clean boost, it also adds a little high end too.
there are FET versions of both clean and OD, on clean it makes for a nice SRV strat tone.
there are two 'jazz' setting as well. One is a classic clean deep jazz setting the other is an unusual setting with the 'jazz' and OD.
Also there are the profiles done with the dumbleator, the buffered FX loop which adds another valve stage to the chain and also has bright caps.
I've also done some profiles without the sm57 and re balanced the 67 and ribbon for a different ,softer tone.
There's a lot here and I've tried to give you a really broad spectrum of tones, some of which are not my own personal taste but I'm sure would be great for others.
Most profiles have a studio and a DI profile.
Jo Bonamassa 2018:
finally if you're one of the first 100 I have included a special 'Jo Bonamassa' profile.
after seeing his recent rig rundown(2018) I saw he was using two 50w 80's Dumble's set in the 'Jazz' mode on Overdrive (very unusual) with two fender tweed amps and blending them together using the lehle P split and a chorus.
I have recreated that using my #102 dumble and a newly acquired Dumble tweed amp.
I had to add the chorus, which is very subtle in the FX slot as I couldn't profile two amps with the stereo shift. apart from that though I used the amp settings from the rig run down
cheers
Marcus
I haven't used the Dumbleator with this as it wasn't around in the 70's so the classic tones were made without it as the original amp only had a pre amp out.
I can do one today actually as I'm nearly finished and haven't dotted all the i's and crossed the t's yet and this amp does have an FX send return as a modification.
It's not as smooth sounding an amp as the later 80's 4th generation ODS, but it has a certain something and David Lindley used the FET to great use.
I'm going to call it the 'Running on empty' pack as it's the amp David Lindley used for all that wonderful Jackson Brown material.
I've also added a great little bonus for the first 100...again
I watched this the other day.
should be up by the end of today.
Marcus
Looks like musicians and businessmen can’t live in a single body... good!
LOL, there's actually a lot of truth in that, but thanks to this forum and some cool folk we can all help each other, which is great.
Marcus
thanks guys , the internet and written word is a minefield sometimes and it's easy to miss judge peoples written words, we communicate with a lot of subtlety person to person and that get's lost.
I have a lawyer (who is actually a judge) so I'm going to see her next week and just check this stuff out for future reference.
Anyway, I appreciate everyone's resolution here, I don't like leaving things unresolved so thank you all again for an adult end to all this and back to what matters...great tone and making music
MC
You did something wrong, but I didn't 'attack' you, I pointed it out. As one of your existing customers. Trying to be helpful, actually.
Here in Ireland it's very common for small business owners to take inexpensive 'Start Your Own Business' courses, to figure out how to deal with the more unpleasant side of business, like taxes and trade laws.
Ok, thanks I appreciate the comments and will take all this on board I realise I am now actually running a small business so yes, you're right I need to make sure I keep abreast of all these kind of things.
In some ways, it's a sign of success which I hope will be a good thing.
thanks everyone. apologies again if I upset people.
I think this coming week I may get chance to profile the '70 'David Lindley' Dumble combo before I take a well earned holiday with my family.
Marcus
All good man
again apologies to anyone who feels I've stepped over the line or compromised their data protection in anyway.
It was completely unintentional and I'm sorry.
M
Ok, I Marcus of norburybrook profiles:
apologise for using an email from GF as an endorsement of my heard pack.
I was given the rights to do so by GF but apparently I was wrong to do so on this forum.
Regards
Marcus
p.s If anyone has issues with my customer service please email me directly so I can sort it out ASAP. It's just me, so sometimes due to time differences and my working schedule it can take a few hours to get profiles sent out.
Display MoreNo, I think you've "helped" yourself enough.
Btw, that was an answer, even though you didn't mean it.
...how do you not see that when you're typing it...?
Goodnight and good luck Marcus.
By sending your email to me PRIVATELY so I could stop this thread descending into some kind of weird personal attack on me!
MC
this is getting silly.
If you give me your email address I will ask mr ********** if it's OK for him to be contacted by you so you can ask him yourself.
will that help you?
M
yes I have correspondence between us where I asked him in regards to promotion on this very forum by posting his Email. I was given the right to use it anywhere.
I understand that statement very well as my wife is a councillor/Psychotherapist so have had years of being around the world of Psychotherapy/Personal growth/Help etc
I use it in my life everyday.
Part f the reason of my defensiveness was the fact that compared to most 3rd part seller here I really don't play the commercial game. I sort of did this as a side-line when I got sick last year and couldn't work for 2 months. I did the shop recently to help overseas buyers who were getting stung by new paypal rules, it makes no difference to me I don't get more money but the customer pays less so I did it for them. I now get 2 emails to deal with per sale instead of one I could, with my connections really go to town with this in a commercial way because I know my profiles are some of the best out there, but I'm a working pro musician and that's my focus.
I'm very happy to keep low key and know I'm doing a great job with what I do making some of the best profiles of some of the best amps.
MC
I never posted any details other than his name which he was perfectly fine for me to use. Hence me being surprised at the reaction. I removed his name and apologised above.
My point about a random quote with no name I think still stands. An endorsement without the persons name is completely meaningless.
I could write anything myself and post here, Having got permission fist and then posting surely means you can see I'm not spamming or shilling like a lot of people do.
seriously , If someone gives me permission to use their name and an endorsement how have I stepped over their data protection?
I have a long list of email addresses form people who bought the JM/SSS profiles. I've never used their Emails to try and sell new ones. Why? because I didn't want to feel intrusive because I know what that's like. Business people would say I was mad not to use a data base of emails of current 'clients' to sell new product but I'm not doing this for those reasons.
If I'm anything as a human being, I'm honest and have integrity, any one who knows me would tell you that.
humbly
Marcus
OK, If I've caused offence then I apologise.
I'm still not sure what I did wrong here so could someone explain;
1: I got an email from a person who bought my profiles saying nice things.
2: I asked him if I could post this on the forum
3: He replied saying yes , I could and I could use it on my website etc or anywhere
I'm having difficulty seeing what I did wrong here.
I did feel like I was being attacked for doing something wrong, hence I felt the need to defend my actions and not apologise.
As I said if I need to apologise then here it is, I'm just not sure what I'm apologising for.
Marcus
Wow, I like your profiles, but I would most certainly not want my emails - with my full name - published on a forum.
Even if he consented to have his name and mail published for advertising purposes, I still wouldn't do that, for basic data protection reasons.
Unless it comes from a real person I could have written it myself. If you'd written a review and asked me not to post it then I wouldn't post it on a forum. Most people who contact me are happy to spread the word. what data protection? it's just a name? people know my name, why the need to hide? seriously what's the problem here? I'm sure there are more than one person in the world with the same name even.
I'm just trying to make great profiles here from great amps and not charge a fortune I'd have to sell 2000 profiles just to pay for the microphones. I've still sold less than 100 of this profile.
Marcus
nice email from a new purchaser:
Hi,
I downloaded the Dumble profiles and all I can say is WOW!!
I was seriously considering selling my kemper and going back to a tubeamp again. I just couldn’t get great convincing tube like tones from theprofiles I have.
Once I installed the Dumble profiles into my kemper and startedplaying my guitar through it, I was truly impressed. I tweaked some of the ampsettings and it is like playing a great tube amp.
Not sure how you were able to capture the sounds with such realism andclarity.
Thanks so much for your great work!!!!!
It’s Chris ?
erm, if you look at the picture title it says 'Knopfler..... I was working with Mark Knopfler.
the Komet is an actual Ken fisher made amp. Ken was the builder of Trainwrecks, he got sick and sold the company and it became Komet. I have a trainwreck Rocket that I will profile eventually.
MC
I've been working with a very well known guitarist all week. Here's my Bluesmaster in operation....that's his signature strat..number 001
M
I have a 100w HRM Bluesmaster that will be profiled as well after the #40 combo. That should make a really comprehensive Dumble pack when all done.
here she is in all her Blue Suede glory.
M
excellent I shall add that to the list.
