seems to me like straightforward F minor harmonized with an octave + third above.
No user scale necessary, simply select Ab/Fm as key and Oct+3rd as interval.
User scales are needed to harmonize scales other than what is most often called major/minor (ionian/aeolian) and all related modes.
As soon as you move to melodic or harmonic minor and their modes, you'll need User Scales. Or for symmetrical scales, or so-calles 'exotic' scales, or 'special' purposes, like harmonizing every note with let's say an A, to create a faux drone sound like a bagpipe for example.

Thanks @DonPetersen....it wasn't so much this song and yes i have a few song with harmonies that are straight forward and no issues with them at all. I was trying to get my head into the users scales and it was this song I was noodling around. Anyway, I'm not sure about the whole step thing and just want to learn how this works.
@lento1234567 has provided a good example, now i just need to understand how the 'step' thing works.

Hello, after a quick listen it is a fairly straightforward major and minor third sequence for the opening riff.
I assume you will play the fundamental.
In this instance, choose User scale 1 + 1 Oct and set the key to Ab/Fm.
Going in to Edit Scale 1, you'll see the associated steps and the intervals which you need to input
Step 1 = 4
Step 6 = 4
Step 8 = 4
Step 10 = 3
Edit all the unused Steps to 0 (to avaoid any false harmony triggering)
Hope this helps .....
Thanks @lento1234567.
definitely not like what I did (hence it doesn't sound right at all!) ...and didn't think of setting the unused steps to zero either. What I still don't quite get is the 'step' thing. Looking at yours you have Step1 then 6 the 8 then 10...that's still confusing.

Hi all,
can someone explain how to create a custom user scale?
I've read the manual and tried to create one, but I'm struggling
with the concept and it sounds weird?
Just t o give and example. I was working on the song
Holiday by Green Day.

Quale versione stai usando? Se è successo solo una volta, non mi farai venire il mal di testa. Se invece succede tutte le volte che lo accendi ci potrebbe essere un problem. Hai provato ad installare la beta?

Hi guys, good to meet you.

No issues with RM beta 2 on my iMac 10.15.2

Allowing for the Fletcher Munson Curve:
All you need is 4 bands of EQ. This can be internal to the Kemper or an external Pedal.
Build Patch without any EQ that sound good at low volume:
When You Go Loud Apply the EQ as Follows:
1 = 150 HZ - 12.8db
2 = 3.95 kHz + 3.6db
3 = 8.0 kHz - 7.7db
4 = 9.3 kHz - 12.6db
The Other Way is to Build the Patches that sound good at low volume with EQ ON:
Build Patch with this EQ on:
1 = 150 hz + 12.8db
2 = 3.95 kHz - 3.6db
3 = 8.0 kHz + 7.7db
4 = 9.3 kHz + 12.6db
Then when you play Loud Just Turn The EQ OFF!!! and you're at least close enough for Rock N Roll
Hope this helps. This was a tip given to me a long time ago back in my Line 6 days, but it always works when going from bedroom volume to gig volume.
I am pretty sure this should work even with Axe-FX, Kemper as well
Cheers,PoweredToastMan
This has me intrigued...nice one mate, I'll give this a shot.

I've probably found another bug? Was trying the Harmonic Pitch (within RM), right clicked to select the User Scale when RM crashed.

Welcome to the forum.

Ok, today I tried multiple times to create a new performance filling each of the five slots with the same rig (Michael Britt Taylor K4 3). First, it would not allow me to save it local or to the Kemper using the orange buttons at the bottom of the main screen. Then, most or all of the slots were reverting to crunch when I changed slots. Then, it started crashing and giving me an error message when I tried to drag and drop the rig onto new slots in a new performance. I shut down and rebooted a couple of times. Will submit to support but attaching the error pic here for reference.
Yep, had the same thing happening to me. I've posted about it here:
Rig Manager 3 is available for testing ?
I've also emailed KPR support at suggested in the error msg.

Initial thoughts: looks good, does what it needs to do.
Issues so far:
- Somehow the midi assignment of one of my presets was changed to another one, probably because RM stored the previously used preset into the one I wanted to load up and something went wrong (user error most likely).
- The loaded amp does not always reload properly in the right hand side of the screen (hence my user error, probably)
Requests:
1 - Ability to select the amp through pull down list, like with the effects
2 - Ability to select the cab through pull down list, like with the effects
3 - Ability to double the knobs and manually enter a number
4 - Ability to edit midi cc assignments
Yep, would like to see 1, 2 and 3 implemented for sure.

Must just be me, I've not only had no success updating, but I've needed to reinstall everything back to OS 7.15. and RM 2.3.14. Major nightmare. (iMac OS 10.15.1)
RM 3.0 crashed every single time, Would open briefly, then crash. Even when only updating to OS 7.17, keeping RM at 2.3.14 none of my performances or other custom settings were found. Fortunately, I'd backed my Profiler up on a USB stick, otherwise everything would have been lost. Even trying to restore from my RM backup failed.
I'm back to OS 7.15 and RM 2.3.14 and things are back to where I started. Dunno why I'm having no luck. For others considering an update, make certain everything is backed up, not just RM but your Profiler.
Too bad, I had major hopes for this.
I've updated to the beta version OS and RM and didn't have any issues (MacOS Catalina 10.15.1). I found bug though:
Rig Manager 3 is available for testing ?
... and I've reported it to KPR support

So, here's my first update...played for the last 2 hours. RM never crashed. Selecting performances was flawless.....until I tried to copy the Rig RM_v3_beta_error.jpgfrom one performance to a new performance then this happened:

Hi there,
a first beta version Rig Manager 3 is available for you. The new version contains a visual editor among other new features.
Please note that the purpose of a public beta version is to iron our remaining and unfound issues. By downloading and installing Rig Manager 3 you will potentially put the content you create at risk. Therefore we advise against using this version in a production critical environment. And if you do, please make a backup first.
Rig Manager 3 is available for macOS 10.12 and higher as well as Windows 8 and higher. You also need Profiler OS 7.1.6 or higher to make things work.
Rig Manager 3 can be found here: https://www.kemper-amps.com/downloads/12/Rig-Manager
Profiler OS 7.1.6 can be found here: https://www.kemper-amps.com/do…ting-System-Beta-Versions
Big Thanks to you @G String and the KPR steam..Just installed the beta on y Stage and (MacOS Catalina) and works great
-
SAY THANKS!
Guys, I want you all to raise a glass tonight to Timo, Arne, Oskar, Georg and Jan. Without them, Rig Manager 3 wouldn't finally be here.
Best, GS
Awesome job guys, well done!

Did upgrade to 7.1.5 last night and after rebooting, the Stage (w/o RM) seems to retain the date and time. Will try again today but so far so good. Thanks @kpahuitsing
