You can do it both ways - USB or RM. I personally prefer to update via USB. Latest available firmware (8.0.2) is NOT beta now!
But maybe this could help you-see paults response:
According to my knowledge it is not possible. See 1st sentence in the Morphing chapter (Main manual, page 139): "Morphing ... allows you to shift numerous parameters WITHIN A RIG simultaneously." But you want to morp one rig into another if I undersand you correctly.
I know you've said you are not interested in Harley Benton but I wonder what's not "classy" on this:
https://www.thomann.de/cz/harl…g212_vintage_vertical.htm
I have put Kone into HB G112 Vintage (1 x 12) and am extremally satisfied!
I know it is stupid question: did you insert usb stick before you power on?
My understanding is:
1st question - Rig Volume
2nd - Rig Volume
3rd - pages available after pressing Rig button
But agree that the wording is a bit misleading!
No no, they is one in the world not using "copy-Paste" fuction like other, it is Kemper
I understand "Kemper is right other world is wrong"
The only solution is creating personal Nr to avoid Kemper bizzare database
Beeing one week member of this forum you must be extremally selfconfident. I would recommend you to learn and understand basic terminology, workflow, features, read main manual etc. And than you can submit your feature request and you will see how many other users will support it and eventually it will be implemented in new OS version. Btw I don't understand what you wanted to demonstrate with attached picture ?
If you copy rig into empty performance slot than name of this slot = name of the pasted rig. If you change the name of the slot to your liking and than you copy to this slot different rig the name remain the same. However you can quickly change it with the function "use rig name". For me this perfectly ok. Maybe after few weeks of using it you will see the logic behind.
If you are building performane from the scratch you start with empty performance. I am using 2 different ways how to create empty performance in RM: initialize or just overwrite it with "empty performance" ( drag and drop with holding control). Than you can rename slots and create for example "structure" of particular song (intro, verse, solo etc.) and if you than just want to change the rig in one particular slot you don' t want to rename it. So what you are calling bug is in fact usefull feature
a performance is divided into 5 rigs... I think these are your blocs?
To be 100% precise: performance consists of 5 SLOTs and each slot can hold 1 RIG
Best profile is the one that sounds best to you! With Kone it is more practical to use studio or merged profiles - you can just use them. If you want to use direct profile you have to add something to the cabinet slot. That's all in my view. The most important is how the result sounds to you.
Direct profiles are NOT best for Kone! That's wrong assumption. If you want to use direct profiles with Kone imprints you have to add some cabinet anyway, otherwise Kone will switch to FR mode!
I've heard the horror stories of BSOD with Win10 from gamers. (I like to game too). I'd rather suffer without a rig manager than go thru all that mess.
If the old RM can manipulate some settings on an updated Kemper OS then I'll be satisfied with that for a while.
Sooner or later you have to upgrade to Win 10 anyway. And not only because of RM.
... I uploaded latest OS 8.0.2.22186 onto USB stick and plugged into Kemper with latest beta OS 8.0.2.22186B - Kemper recognizes the USB stick, but cannot see the OS ...
It looks like both versions are identical. However I don't have experience with ugrading from beta so contact support is probably the best thing to do.
In Rig Manager create folder in Local library and name it as you like (Tone Junkie) and than copy all rigs into this folder. I hope this will help you.
how you find the file on your machine?
In the dowload folder? On my Windows PC it is "Downloads" on the desktop.
... My problem is that my Kemper software was out of date and when I click "check for software update" nothing happens and ....
What sw version you have?
Rig specific EQ settings are in Amp section and are stored with the rig. See Main manual 7.5, Stack section, page 148.
I am doing backups & OS updates from one USB stick with no problems at all.
