  • Hey, Verminante - I saw post where it appears that you use the Kemper for a violin, among other things.

I'm a new Kemper user, migrating from a Boss GT-100. I'll be using it for Pedal Steel Guitar, acoustic and electric guitars, violin, mandolin, dobro, banjo, and lap steel.

I've found and downloaded some really good pedal steel rigs, and I have a source for acoustic guitar. Just curious what rig/resource you're using on the violin. I have between now and early May before our first show of the year to get my stuff migrated to the Kemper.

    Thanks!

    • Hey there Jerry,

      welcome to Kemperland!

Well, I believe most of my "normal" (that is acoustic) violin rigs have something like a Fender Champ or Twin as the base amp for the sound. I also have one rig with a Hill 9v amp that is part of Kemper's factory presets. Normally what I do is but a eq with a high pass at the beginning of the chain to filter out any low frequency hum or noise and spend a lot of time playing around with reverb settings which are crucial to get the right, sweet violin sound (id that's what you're lookinf for)

Hope you're coming along with your setup so far?

      Best,

      David

  • Hi Verminante would it be possible for you to tell me how to get the CME Midi masters to work . My FCB 1010 works great when it is hard wired with one midi lead . I only want the FCB 1010 to change profiles .I have bought two sets of midi masters . I have fully explained what I have done so far in a thread on the public forum. I was informed there is a thread in the private forum . I'm a very old rock & roller born in 1940's and I find the technical side of things tricky. Would you be able to find the time to get my FCB 1010 to talk to the KPA with the midi masters

    Kind Regards British

    • Hey there,

no problem. So, the connection using the Widi Masters is pretty straight forward. Just make sure to plug the big connector to the Midi out of the FCB1010. The (small connector will go to the Midi in if you need 2-way communication).

Same thing on the Kemper (or whatever hardware you will be connecting to). Just plug the big connector to the Midi out and the smaller connector to the Midi in.

The Widi Masters will "see" each other automatically and connect. Simple as that ;)

    • Hi Thank you so much for your quick reply it now works a treat I'm so so very happy . My mistake was to plug the big widi in the FCB 1010 Out connector and plug the big widi into the In connector of the KPA just like I plug my hard wire midi lead in . My FCB 1010 has the Behringer STD up to date chip, would you know if the FCB 1010 can page up and down through the profiles of the KPA using one pedal for all of the profiles up and one pedal for all the way down . Once again Thank you .

      Kind Regards Colin

    • Glad to hear you got the connection working. As to the FCB: I've been using the dedicated Uno4K chip for a very long time now, so I'm not really the guy to ask if you're using the standard chip. I do suppose, however, that you can accomplish navigating your profiles with it fine ;)

    • Hi That's fine I will have to get my tap dancing skills up to scratch with the FCB
