  • Hey David i just read your post about being new to kemper and all that (a little late i know) and i noticed you said you had a 1x12 friedman cab. What are the specs on it? (power load, and resistance). I'm currently in the market for a 1x12 for my power head as well but I've read things about 1x12 cabs getting blown out by the kemper (powered version that is). have you had any issues yet?

    • HI Jim - -sorry for the late response. The Friedman is a 16 ohm Celestial Creamback speaker which can handle 65 watts. I love the sound of it myself. - Dave

    • generally speaking, at what volume levels are you running your kemper into this speaker? Im about to buy an orange ppc 112 which is also 16 ohm and can handle 60 watts and i really don't want to blow the speaker or alternatively damage my kemper. i don't plan on running the volume too high my self as it will serve exclusively as a practice cab but i just wanted to know your experiences with using one.

    • HI Jim - I keep the volume where I can play with a drummer in a 15 x15 room and the speaker handles it with no issues. My master volume on the Kemper is at about 3.5 - 4.0. I think you will be fine with a 1x12 cab. Remember that a 300 watt solid state amp is not like playing a tube amp. A tube amp has a lot more power .

    • thanks for the advice david.

    • anytime!
