Hi.
How does the micro input of the KPA handles ribbon mic´s ( passive ) ?
I usually like to use the most direct path avoiding pre´s and mixers.
Thanks.

I think a few people have used ribbon mics while profiling. Bottom line is if it sounds good, you can use it
I have used a ribbon mic directly into the Profiler.
I LOVE ribbon mics
I used a Fathead II Lundahl mic straight to the KPA for my Dr Z Rt66 profiles. I also have profiles with an i5 and e609. Play the same version/setting with all three mics and see what you think. My preference is a ribbon mic. It does very well with the Kemper.
thanks for the reply´s.
i don´t have any ribbon micro, but im getting one asap.
profiling is addictive .
Anyone know how much gain is available on the internal KPA preamp?
That is an important piece of the chain when using ribbon mics. Unless they are phantom powered, they usually require a preamp with a good amount of gain available.

They work fine. Gain depends of your ribbon microphone. If it has a very light ribbon you will have more gain.
