Powered Kemper and Guitar Cab wattage question

I’ve found some old threads on this, but wanted a reconfirm from you more experienced users.

Have a powered Kemper head. Want to use it with a 2 by 12 cab that is wired in parallel for 8 ohm. Speakers are a 65w creamback and 60w V30. The overall cabinet is rated 120watt (lowest watt speaker * 2)

From reading the threads, everyone seems to say “don’t worry, just don’t turn it up crazy loud”. Even Christoph had such a response.

However no one seems to every explain why you’d be fine. Loudest I play is about 90db.

Would love some reassurances I won’t have any issues here.

Speakers don’t blow from short peaks of volume but sustained overload.

The Kemper (like all other amps) doesn’t put out a fixed amount of power (600w). Instead the power rating is the maximum it can deliver. Amps are like cars. Just because a car can hit 200mph doesn’t mean it can’t be driven slower. Just because an amp can deliver 600w doesn’t mean you need to use all that power.

The best way to check that you won’t damage your speakers is to use the Wattage Meter in the Output Menu. It is calibrated for 4ohms so when using it with an 8ohm cab you just half the reading to see what you cab is getting hit with. As long as you keep this below the cabinet rating you should have nothing to worry about.
