Hopefully Performance mode will be finished, as I have a 2 month tour this fall. *fingers crossed*
are they making the profiles available for download?
Okay, I have the cables -
but how do I select the input - for example in Logic....how would I select the spdif as the input???
I have the cable running directly into my mac pro,
Evan

Kudos to you, however, I'm on a mac, and I saw that your editor will be for windows only - you said another guy was working on one for mac?
Either way, It would be nice to know if kemper is planning on making one anytime soon, If they released an official Kemper librarian tomorrow,
I feel like you would have wasted a lot of time and effort making this one on your own.
I really dig the new pack -
I've been wanting some more vintage and vibey tones, and I really dig the 9volt amp a lot.
Also, I think the bassman profiles - the crunch in particular - sounds really great!
If only I could sort by amp type now...
So this new rig pack isn't available yet right?
It's coming this weekend? I already have the 1.1 beta, and I'm just interested in getting this "magic brown eye" amp or whatever
Is it multiple profiles of the amp, or just one single profile?
Evan
So I need all these items correct?
S/PDIF Coax out of Kemper:
http://www.amazon.com/Cables-2…keywords=spdif+coax+cable
Converter:
http://www.amazon.com/Digital-…&keywords=Converter+SPDIF
Toslink to mini optical into MacPro:
http://www.amazon.com/Optical-…k+to+mini+digital+optical
Will someone confirm that those items are correct - I'm not the most computer savvy guy,
Just wanna be sure those are the right specs before I buy,
Thanks!
PS. is the toslink cable the stubby end? because that doesn't look like it could fit into a headphone jack.
winding into the world of spdif for the first time -
I think I need a spdif > Toslink > toslink mini adaptor, and then I can plug this sucker right into the back of my mac pro in the optical in?
Anyone else do this with success? I believe you can do the same thing with a macbook pro into the headphone jack (which is also an optical in)
Anyway, just wanna be sure about the cables, some look like they are RCA type (and that's what it looks like on the back of the Kemper)
or do I just buy "S/PDIF" cables, and they are similar diameter to RCA type ports in the back of KPA?
any help appreciated,
Evan
very cool advice guys - thanks! i'm gonna try that tomorrow when I'm in the studio
So I don't know if anybody else has tried this, but tonight, I ran the KPA into my effects return on my tube amp -
turned off cabinet on the profiles (and locked it there) and it sounded pretty freaking good. I guess ymmv depending on the type of amp -
but it was pretty cool
HORRAY
Evan
Yeah, I actually really like the tuner A LOT -
if it can be improved upon, great, but right now, it's at the bottom of my list.
I also love how you can see "general" tuning when you are switched out of tuner mode - really saves a lot of time, LOVE IT
I don't understand how hard it could be to at least sort rigs by amp type. It's already in the system, and pops up at the top of every profile.
I could have my JCM 800's in one place, and easily pick out the ones I need and don't need, and make browsing more streamlined.
That would be pretty bad-ass
Instead of using the knob on the KPA to go through each character which is a PITA, could you somehow make it so that the USB slot could accept a computer keyboard and we could just Type using that - That would save me a bunch of time
Just wanted to bump this to the top - I think it's the most requested feature from everyone -
Sort by amp type, sort by gain,
or some kind of software editor.
I don't care if it's made by Kemper or someone here on the forums, but it's absurd how Technologically advanced the Kemper is in all aspects besides organization.
Also I wanna spend a weekend with my buddy's amps and profile them, and share them, but the thing I'm dreading most is inputing each name and tag for each profile with just the knobs on the Kemper. Would be so much easier to do this with some kind of software after the fact.
Okay - rant over, love y'all
Evan
the effects are pretty meh IMO,
the spring reverb - you can't get that splash and boing from it.
Tremolo sounds like a typical digital tremolo.
I'm planning on getting a Malekko spring reverb pedal and putting it in the effects loop. Maybe an Empress tremolo pedal at some point as well.
boss FRV-1 is a pretty decent spring reverb pedal as well...
then SOMEDAY maybe getting the '63 spring reverb tank from Fender, that would be the bomb, but it's like 800 bucks.
Thanks Chris -
So is it just automatically turning down the gain on each distorted profile? or is it something separate than the gain control? to me it sounds different than turning down the gain, but i could be wrong. like if I turn down the dist. sense 2dB is it the same as turning down the gain 2dB on the profile.
PS, I love this thing, thank you!
Okay, I've always adjusted the clean sensitivity on my input, but I just realized by adjusting the distortion sensitivity as well, it really makes those gainy profiles sound 100 times better. cleans them up really nice, but sounds better than just lowering the gain. I feel like I have a brand new Kemper now!
So anyway, can anyone explain what distortion sensitivity does or is? I feel like clean sensitivity is just input level right? is there a "default setting" for either of these as a starting point?
the clean sensitivity is easy to figure out because just don't let the light get into the red. Is there any way to set the distortion sensitivity other than just using your ears until it sounds good
I just can't get over how much it cleans up those distorted profiles without getting rid of the gain. My guitar is on the hot side, so every profile I've played through has always sounded just a little to thrashy.
Okay, that's all, have fun
and44 - Do you have a link to these cabs? I couldn't find them in rig exchange?
yeah, I'm completely floored there isn't a better way to browse, organize, and manage profiles on the kemper, on your computer, and on this website.
I have to imagine their working on it - it should be their top priority considering most people have requested their nuts off for this feature
