any chance to “go Liquid” with your profiles?

Hi Hallan! Nice cover! I'm waiting for the update to be released publicly (don't want to take the risk of a beta version giving me problems during a live gig). But it will only be possible if Kemper supplies the tone stack model for this particular amp. The Marshall Major is not based on a JTM, JMP/JCM... It's an amp that is very unique. Second thing is that liquid profiles will only work with those that didn't have any pedals in front of the amp during the profiling process. And most of the profiles did have either the Hornsby-Skewes or Aiwai clone pedals. But I will look into it! Many thanks for your message!

That is precisely the way I work. Sound engineers are generally quite happy with a DI from the main outs, so I have to believe it's similar to the imprint.

By now I'd think that every speaker known to civilization was available as an IR. What have you had difficulty finding? Just curious.

Couldn't find the G12T-75, the Oxford 12T6/Oxford 12L6 and the Jensen P12Q/Jensen P12R cabinets. I noticed Michael Britt always uses CL80 as a cabinet. I prefer the original speaker, which is most of the time also available as Kone Imprint, but difficult to find as cabinet...

I use the Kemper cabinet with the Kone Imprints. For the Main Outs, I always try to find a cabinet that is close to the imprint I'm using, so that the FOH sound is less or more the same as what I'm hearing on my Kemper cabinet. Unfortunately, they're not always easy to find and Kemper doesn't provide them standard. How do you guys deal with this?

    UPDATED PACK!!!

On occasion of the 5th anniversary of the release of the More Black Pack, we released an updated pack (Volume 2) which includes a lot of new profiles as well as the original profiles (Volume 1), all for the same price! This updated pack is free for Kemperists who bought the first pack before!

If you like Ritchie Blackmore's sound from the era of Deep Purple Mark I, II, III, and of Rainbow's first two album, check out these profiles! They were made from a very rare Marshall Major amp.

This pack contains over 200 profiles (!) that try to simulate Ritchie Blackmore's sounds during his years with Deep Purple (Mark II and III) and Rainbow. These are profiles of a very rare Marshall Major 200W Model 1967 amp from 1971-1972 in excellent condition. There were only 1200 copies made of this amp, and only a few are still in good condition, worldwide. The best is to play these rigs on a Strat, although many profiles also sound great on a Les Paul! This amp was also used by Mick Ronson, Stevie Ray Vaughan and John Frusciante. These profiles sound the best on a FR speaker because the H55 speaker is an integral part of the unique sound, and for some song profiles, IR's were created and converted into Kemper cabinets. You will not find this kind of profiles anywhere else because there are so little Majors left in good condition! I checked it out and couldn't find any, that's why I decided to profile it myself. Furthermore, it was not an easy task to get the right ingredients for Ritchie's sound... Every component in the sound chain had to be the right one. It took me years of experimenting with amps (Vox, Marshall Vintage Modern, and the Major), treble boosters and speakers to obtain this result.

The material that was used for making this pack, is the following:

a very rare Marshall Major 200W Model 1967 amp from 1971-1972

Good vintage tubes (preamp and power tubes)

A Hornby-Skewes clone treble booster to emulate sounds during the period of Deep Purple Mark II

An AIWA TP-1011 clone to emulate sounds during the period of Deep Purple Mark III and the first two Rainbow albums

The Rivera Rockcrusher to reduce the volume at speaker level

    A Scumback H55 30 Watt speaker

    A 1970's Marshall checkerboard 1960B 4x12 cabinet with PR-H55 pre-Rola 1969 55-Hz Pulsonic 014 cone Celestion G12H 30 watt speakers Stamped T1281

Shure SM57 and Sennheiser MD421 microphones

These profiles were made with firmware 8.5.8. Your KPA must be using 8.5.8 or later to use these profiles.

Kemper Packs Testimonies (Volume 1) :

    Suseguitar from Kemper forum:

I had a chance to play one of the profiles (037508) yesterday in our rehearsal room, played my Strat with Quarterpounds ;) - the solosound is just awesome, assertive, supporting and inspiring. Great work!

    Ibot39 from Kemper forum:

After testing the profiles my conclusion is: The pack does exactly what the author is advertising. You get the Blackmore sound from the mentioned era. Humbuckers are possible, other 70s rock-sounds with a little tweaking. But the real soul of this pack is authentic Blackmore-tone! For this it was created with an ear for details and this is were the rigs shine! Thanks for the nice pictures that complement this special pack. I have to highlight the pdf that comes with the profiles offering very detailed information. Great!

    Laker from Kemper forum:

These profiles are the real deal IMHO.

    Riddlescott from Kemper Forum:

I like it the better the longer i play it. What i also appreciate is the tasty effects settings. Highly recommended for the real Marshall Bluesy Staccato Strat Sound.

    raiellojr from Kemper forum:

I like the pack a lot...a little tweaking and I can get real close to your sound samples.

    Laker from Kemper forum:

Blackmore Marshall Major profiles [Flying Snowman Prods] - Only the one amp a Marshall Major but it sounds like the real deal. These profiles are outstanding. Everything they make sounds great. What I really like about them is their sound samples sound just like what you download. IMHO a lot of other profilers do not sound the same.

    Acolbourn from Kemper forum:

Thanks for the tips, just wanted to follow up for any else on the hunt for Frusciante tone. For profiles I tried flying snowman's more black pack listed above and they sound great!

Hi Burkhard, I tried it and unfortunately it doesn't change anything.

I also tried it from my DAW (Logic) so that I can see exactly at which times the events are being sent.

I takes 1 to 2 seconds (that's a few bars depending on the tempo) before the switching takes place. With the remote it's immediate.

All the Kemper receives, is the bank select and the program change messages. I even tried without bank select and it's the same problem.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

    Thank you

I'm sending different midi controllers from Cubasis 3 on my iPad to the Kemper, as documented in the manual: CC #47 to preload a performance and CC's #50-54 to load the slot. I find out that the Kemper is very very slow (I'm talking about 2 seconds!) in responding to this midi data. I monitored the outgoing midi signal from Cubasis, and it sends it well on time to the Kemper. It's the Kemper that takes this long to switch slots. Anyone?

    Thanks
