Hi guys,
sorry for digging this old thread out !
As you might remember, the BlueAmps CX was tested in this shoot out as "very good sounding" but not loud enough, compared to the Atomic or Matrix units.
We fixed this.
The demo model, tested in this shoot out, now has an internal pre-amplifier that can boost the incoming signal up to +15dB.
[Blocked Image: http://www.kpa-solutions.com/CXonsale/CXplate.png]
Now we can deliver every single watt of the 200W that is included in the CX to the CELESTION coaxial speaker.
If this one is not loud enough for you, I don´t know what to say anymore.... .
OK, here is the deal :
The improved demo model with NO scratches or ding dongs whatsoever is on sale now !!
Its list price is 979,- Euro, but now you can get a new,
LOUD and excellent sounding and looking unit for 879,- Euro only !!
(price includes 19% VAT + shipping cost)
CRAZY !!
You will still keep the full warranty of 24 months !
You can return the unit after 60 days of testing !
In the very unlikely event that the CX is still not loud enough for you....just send it back. We will return your money and shipping cost.
For more information about the CX , please visit this site :

(It does not show the pre-amp / volume pot though).
Here are some pictures of the very unit :

Thank you and best regards!

Great news !!!!
Tilman, this is awesome!
I had mixed feelings before but finally I feel that Günters and my criticism was constructive in the end.
All thumbs up!!
So there was really an issue...Now I wonder, as a Camplifier 360 owner, am I subject to the same issue ?
I don't think so. The Camplifier is a different beast.
Those prices....for a cabinet with this?

Hi,
no worries here.
The CX uses a complete different amplifier model than the Camplifier.
Amplifier is different, signal levels are different and load is different.
Tilman
Thank you !
I have to say that I like the sound of the CX very much, CLR and Q12a were just louder, but that's history now.
For sure the CX is the most beautiful FRFR-cab and it fits perfect to the toaster. I think Q12a and CX use the same speaker (am I right?), because of a different construction and the bigger size of the cab, the CX got more bass-bottom end.
Beautifull cab! If I had the money... But is this green really match the color of the KPA? It looks to more blue on the pictures...
Guenterhaas & Ingolf... cool video guys... from the comparisons I dig the Q12a... nice sound overall.. more punch and depth.. sounded better on all of the examples... at least to me..

Yes, you are.

It's always a matter of taste, too. I think all 3 cabs are great, the CX with it's new feature now is equal to Q12a and CLR. CX ist more "guitar cab"-looking, Q12a and CLR are built like monitor cabs, they all sound great.
By the way, I'm still not convinced to use the KPA for small gigs/venues, there I still prefer my tube amps. It just "feels" better to me, for recording or big tours/gigs with in ears I prefer the KPA.

Me OTOH, I absolutely love the consistency and non-beam I get from a good FRFR. On small stages, and bigger ones.
I'm not schlepping amps any more.
He Guys,
the "legendary shoot out CX" has found a new owner ; so the above offer is not valid anymore.
Thank you all for your good will and attention!
Best regards!
Tilman
I'm not schlepping amps any more.
Just for the record:
- Fender Blues Junior-combo (my main amp for clubs / smaller venues): 14,06 kg (= 31 lbs)
- CLR active wedge: 20,4 kg (= 45 lbs)
Even your CLR-alternative (Yamaha DXR-10) is more heavy (14,6 kg / 32.2 lbs).
So you're not schlepping amps anymore, but heavy (CLR) and not so heavy (DXR-10) FRFR-cabs..... For sure the Blues Junior doesn't offer the millions of sounds and effects of the KPA, but sometimes I just like a small, cranked up tube-amp with some good pedals.

I know. Unfortunately my amps are way above 30 kg.
I was always tempted to buy a Blues Jr. which is an amp that I played on a few occasions and that I like very much.
I could certainly do a gig only with guitar, Blues Jr. and a booster or a TS.

I know these amps, like my old Marshall 100W-top or my Boogie Mk2..... They won't leave the house anymore.
The Blues Junior is a great amp, I just changed the speaker to a Celestion G12K-85 and use it with a few pedals (Fulltone Fatboost, Fulltone OCD, Strymon El Capistan...). It's hard to describe, for sure the KPA is the best tool in the digital guitar-world, but it's also a lot of fun to play a tube-combo and a few excellent pedals. The Blues Junior especially sounds great with strats and teles.
An old Fender Vibrolux sounds great, too, Gregor Hilden loves them:
- Fender '66 Vibrolux and Fender '60 strat
