Looper for fx chain on off, or looper for recording phrases?
What I've gathered reading the forum is that a looper for recording/play back phrases will be released.
I'm not sure what specific features the looper will have but I guess it's gonna be very good. -

Great news! -
I guess they will release it at the same time as the foot controller, since it has a looper switch.
-
I wish they would just give us a looper now. Control it with the momentary switch inputs on back. Currently the only 9v pedal I have on the floor is a Looper...it would be nice to get rid of it and use just the Kemper.
-
It could require an hardware upgrade for adding memory to the device, as the number of rigs is already limited.

I don't think so.
Probably the rig number has been limited since the beginning because of memory and CPU power required for the planned developments. -

I haven't seen any official confirmation, but I think the looper would be implemented in the Kemper itself (through a firmware update). It would be weird to add it as a hardware part of the foot controller since, among other things, sending the necessary audio stream back and forth through the network cable would increase latency. The Kemper foot controller will just have dedicated buttons to control it.
I suppose it would be MIDI controllable so that 3rd party MIDI foot controllers could be programmed to use it as well.

That's what I think about the implementation of the looper as well. -
Loop-er!

+1 that's what I think. -
a looper would be great if it's built with enough capability. honestly, i'd be surprised if it came out the gates with the features one needs to leverage it effectively. still hopelessly optimistic as it would be great to drop my Boomerang and Side Car for an integrated solution..
-
I wouldn't guess it will replace a Boomerang and Sidecar.
But if it has a decent loop time, I'd be happy. Reverse would be a bonus.
-
30 seconds would be optimal for my purposes. Would be a great jam tool.
Wouldn't it be great if Mr CK builds a looper that outdoes the other stuff on the market in terms of ease of use? It's downright frustrating trying to get perfect loops with most of the stuff out there right now. Practically impossible to loop and have a live drummer, because if you're just a couple of milliseconds off on pressing a footswtich, it becomes unusable real fast.

I don't what to expect. The Kemper is said to have *only* 128 Mb RAM and it must already be using a great deal of it.
1 mn of CD quality music is roughly 10MB. That is a lot compared to the total RAM available. -
Who says that the foot controller will not have the memory or at least a SD card expansion slot?

My Digitech XT express ($99 US) has 10 minutes stereo. It's soo liberating after having a 30 second looper. I don't think I could go back to the short loops.
-
Also love my Jamman stereo. But integrated would be so sweet to (provided it has more then 30sec loop time).

How long is a slow 12 bar blues, 20-30 sec?
