Best Profiles for Death Metal

Ok - I already put "all sinmix" stuff on the list but seriously. that 5150 re-amping pack just MURDERS. Not Kills. It murders. I´m fairly certain those profiles will be on a good amount of records in the future!

Let us hear some Infecting the Swarm tracks re-amped with it Does this mean you finally like something more than the Lasse Lammert profiles?

I always liked 3 guys in particular: Lasse, Sinmix and James from Stymphalian. All their profiles are highly useable for me. A good friend of mine is also very very fond of the Kosten-Packs which work fantastically with darker pickups. If I get around to it I´ll do some re-amping my own tracks

Added: Fortress profile from Kosten (Rig exchange)

What do you guys tend to prefer with EMGs vs. passive pickups?
-
So far my best solution is a combination of a Lasse Lammert amplifier (e.g. of the free profiles with a Rectifier or the 6505) and a cabinet of the TAF 6505 bundle (sometimes also the of the TAF Rectifier bundle). This comes pretty close to the sound i'd like to get (e.g. Exodus, Testament)
I cannot upload examples because the TAF profiles part of commercial bundles. -

Lundgren M series is my favorite though EMG's definitely have their place such as leads and 3 to 4 note chords as they have a slightly rounder sound to them.

For me personally there are no pickups out there that can beat the EMG81´s. I´ve tried a good amount of different ones - both actives and passives but the 81´s just KILL when it comes to death metal.
-
Woops, I just meant what profiles do you tend to use with EMGs as opposed to with passives?
-
Generally everything that has been created with EMGs!
-
Sinmix is indeed awesome. I'm using his profiles with an EMG81-85 pair and it sounds absolutely stellar -- edgy and dark on the bridge, buttery and warm on the neck.

Couldn´t have said it better.
Also added: the 5152 and 6505 profile from Kosten in the "free profiles" section of the forum

Added: Hearse metal profiles (RE)

Anyone else loving the hell out of the new Cognizance EP? It's amazing stuff. I know they used the Kemper on some (all?) of it. Would be very curious to learn which profiles they were using!

YES. That EP rules! I actually asked Eyal Levi (he did all the producing and mixing and reamping) and he told me he used profiles of a 5153. That being said I´m about 99% sure he used his own profiles for that since he´s from audiohammer and those guys are generally known for creating some of the best guitar tones in metal ever. Maybe @VESmedic1 @VESmedic can give us some further insight?

I can see that for the rhythm parts definitely, but the leads were seriously 5153? Amazing sounds, either way.

I think he mentioned 5153 for rythms and something marshall-ish for the leads. But I can´t remember it properly. But then again - it´s quite easy getting a good lead tone
-
Couldn't tell Ya about this EP, sorry guys. Eyal is no longer associated with audiohammer from what I understand. They have a mutual grouo of profiles they use, predominantly done by one of the guys. If the leads are a marshall, I almost gusrentee it's marks CAE/Golub modded marshall he uses a ton for leads (most recent conquering dystopia). This is also the amp/profile used on the recent death angel album.

Oh wow, didn´t know that eyal wasn´t part of audiohammer anymore. So it´s just mark and jason now? And thanks for the info!
