No one seems to know, except maybe Kemper employees. And they are not talking.
-
Never.
Bill Gates bought Kemper!
I'm joking, of course... -
I don't have any numbers relating to percentage of Kemper owners using Macs.
But, would bet it'a a pretty large percentage.

Why don't you start a poll and let people vote ...
[I would love to leave it there but am sure that there will be all kinds of people reminding me that we already had a vote up!]
-
Been there, done that.
-
yup... they closed it... not enough PC users voting.. LOL
-
I use both.
I think the PC finally came of age with Windows 7 for stability enough to have confidence recording with it. I never liked earlier OS.
Mac is sure solid tho. I like PC for Desktop and Mac for laptop, but I may get a desktop iMac at some point if my current system dies.
My only problems are I like Sony Acid Pro and FL Studio, but I'm using them less and less, so it's getting easier to slip into Mac World.
I'd still keep a PC for a playbox though.

Any news on when it will be available?
-
I don't think the news is going to change... they've always iterated by the end of the year..
of course it'd be a pleasant surprise if they deliver early! -
I know that PC users and people using USB sticks would disagree but I thnk that getting the RM across all platforms (computers, smart phones and tablets) and operating systems should be one of Kemper's top priorities after getting the 2.4 beta fixed and out the door.

+ lot and lots!!!

+100000!!
Seriously, I actually considered getting an Axe FX2 this week primarily due to it having a sound editing option from the computer!
I know....GAS...I need help! -
I don't think the Mac version will have sound editing. Only profiling management, and maybe eventually backup control. There is some tag editing at most.
So the Mac nor PC version won't/don't have similar capability in tweaking internal parameters as the Fractal software.

Well its a pity that it doesnt do sound editing....hopefully this will be a thing Kemper can add in to Rig Manager v2.0 or something...

Until I bought the Kemper I was using the Pod HD 500 and getting some great sounds out of it. In addition Line 6 has a wonderful sound editor / librarian as well. I must admit, as much as I prefer the Kemper sounds, I really miss that software.
-
Are you referring to "sound editing" as rig control, i.e. modifying a rig's configuration?
Sure that would be great n' all but... wouldn't you just like to have a librarian on the Mac to begin with? If it's gonna take a year to build a Mac version of managing a rig library on a Mac, how long might it take to build an editor for all the variables on the Profiler? just sayin'.. -
In the HD 500s case the small screen and awkward gymnastics when configuring made that software a godsend
On the other hand the Kempers front is so user friendly, its not as much needed. So of course the librarian for the Kemper would be my first priority.
-
yup.. sure is user friendly... and I don't think the team is too worried about a Mac version.. if they were, they'd have built it on a different platform... but hey.. it is what it is.

Anyone tried to make it work with Crossover? I'd really like to use that app too but there's no way I'm installing Windows on my Mac
