Running out through a PA

    Not connected my Powerrack properly to a PA yet. Can someone just confirm it's a simple as using the main outputs as this is what the manual says.


    I assume it's ok to use one output as mono ( not using stereo effects) and it would sound OK?


    I would like to just take the mike lead at a gig and just plug into the back.


    No setting changes required except perhaps monitor cab switch??


    The reason I ask is I did quickly connect to PA and it sounded awful ( distorted and thin). However, it was a "crap" PA and didn't check levels etc so I assume it was this but just wanted to check the fundamentals first.


    Also, I assumed that to run and FRFR speaker ( typically a monitor, I would go passive and use the power amp which is then the speaker output?

    and about volumes if you play Main-Out-To-FOH and your cab on the stage:
    - you can unlink your Main Out Volume from Master Volume and set it as desired (I set it at -20dB and have good results with different PAs)
    - you let volume of Monitor Out linked to Master Volume, so that you can adjust your cab volume on stage without "disturbing" the FOH-volume
