When I browse the RE for "britt" I get 17 rigs back. One of them is Man With Gas' BognerShiva, where I for the sake of me can't fin any "britt" string in any of the Inspector's fields.
What am I missing?
Maybe the cab is from Michael, like for the other 2 non-mbritt rigs that appear in the same query? I thought it was not possible to change the author's name even for single "parts" of a profile tho
An intruder in the RE? :)

Thanks Damian, of course I'm not implying that MWG did anything along that line, specially on purpose. I'm just trying to realize what's happening.
It seems that RM doesn't read the file tags but rather the file's "source code", so to speak. -
Thats why i dont put more my merged profiles very easy to steal cab profile.

But another side of the mirror - the kpa was never announced that it was secure platform for commercial presets. I think the users and sellers created this market (not the KPA ENG.) . So there is no one to blame. I personally don't like to copy somebody's work - but is only me.

Also true, but now its easy, download some direct amp profiles copy paste some cab profuiles and bum! Open store and go if 80% of finall guitar sound its cab block - you need good cab profiles and thats all

Hi folks,
Brand new Kemper owner, here (Power Rack).
I apologize in advance if this is a crushingly stupid question...
I have to presume that every uploader of free profiles, on the Rig Exchange, is on the honor system. I mean, there is no way to verify that what they have profiled, is actually the real amp model/manufacturer that they say it is, in terms of the data tags and info. they fill out. Same goes with the cabs and mics.
So, at the end of the day, does it all boil down to the reputation and "name" that the individual profiler has earned, here, on the forum and Kemper website?
-
There is a way to check that the sysex messages for cab data and amp data is binary the same with other rig with another author's name.
So it can be done with simple algorithm or checksum algorithm on the Rig Exchange site . But still there is another question - which rig (cab part or amp part ) is not original?Maybe some registering system could help.
-
You also have to be careful when profiling as the info from the rig that is previously loaded is copied by default to the new profile, so even though you have created a brand new profile it could have someone else's details in it.
-
True. But the point I am making is that apparently all the tags are properly filled, but the rig references to MBritt nevertheless.
-
That's a good point Shane , I recently profiled a custom designed and built amp and it shows up as a 60's Fender Twin in the tags because I never changed it...
This would be a good future feature in terms of having to input Name of amp , Cab , etc... as new rather than defaulting to the last rig used
-
... and what if you edit all the tags and the RM still references someone else?
-
The letters M-B-r-i-t-t all appear in the rig tags, some of them more than once:
BognerShiva Crunch
Bogner Shiva 20th
BOGNER
Man With Gas -
Hahaha
...Tell me you're joking my friend!(... And later on make a query for "trtibm" )
On a serious note, how useful a filter criterion would be if it found all the possible alphabetical combinations of a string?
-
I don't know how the RM string search works, but if a query searches for each of the letters, this would explain the results.
-
Have you tried the little experiment I've suggested?

Or maybe there is a system that verify binary part and assign it to the author - and thats why you get your results. I don't know really. Just speculate. -
The string "mbritt" is still in the file (I checked with an editor). I am currently not at my Kemper so I cannot check all the tags. There are more than RM is currently showing.
I tried to open the file with Laurent's tag editor, but I received an error message - New format?Maybe someone next to a Kemper can load the rig and check the tags.
At least we know the search function is working as expected! -
Yup, my goal would be to fully exploit the Search function

Not yet - I've not been at my studio computer today. It wasn't just another joke?
