You basically have to replace a system file called boot.efi in two locations.
Which version of Boot.efi depends on which version of OSX you are going to use.
My first use was for Mountain Lion.
Also, be aware that the early video cards from the 1.1 will have a problem.
If you search the web for "Mountain Lion on a Mac Pro 1.1 you will find plenty of info. The hardest part is installing the OS if the system doesn't "qualify".
