Advice for setting up profiles through a YAMAHA DXR10?

Ok I purchased what seemed to be a widely recommend FRFR. Thanks for the advice everyone.

For those of you that have spent hours setting up profiles through it at home, rehearsed with it, gigged, compared your home DXR10 sound to a PA FOH, tweaked profiles, tweaked settings on the DXR10 etc etc. What advice would you have regarding lessons learned and where you've ended up?

The first thing that struck me was the D-Contour setting. Wouldn't it be better to setup profiles on the FOH/Main EQ setting? This curve looks about where the overall EQ on a house FOH would be?
Initially I thought it should be set in the OFF position but come my Kemper's first time thru a PA would my EQs and gains be out of whack?

I don't tweak for the DXR. All my rigs translate well.
I use the preset settings depending if I use them as wedge or on a pole.

I'm with Ingolf, when I used my DXR10's I didn't tweak much at all I just made sure I turned them up to gig volume

I was just worried about setting up 12 songs "performances" with various rigs/FX/drive for verse/chorus then it sounding very different.

But thanks.... I'm clearly overthinking it haha.

My DXR10s sound amazingly well without any tweaking. I set mines on the floor but not in wedge position, I put them in stand up position on a small foam amp riser and set the preset to off.

Yeah I can get them sounding great. I was just wondering what the best listening conditions were so your profiles translate best to FOH PA speakers..... which Ingolf and Raoul are saying isn't really an issue.

Best setting for DXR10 is to buy a DXR12

I didn't hear much of a difference when I compared the DXR10 to the DXR12. It may depend on what kinds of sounds someone uses, and what kind of guitar. It might make a bigger difference with a 7-string.

I completely disagree. I started with the dxr12 and didn't like it at all. The dxr10 has a much better sound to it, ironically, better bass.

I use the DXR8 more than enaugh bass to shake the floor in my musicroom! The sound in the DXR is almost identical with the sound comeing out of our PA speakers(JBL) so the DXR can be used as a reference.. i dont use headset or studio speakers. crank up the volume! not much tweaking on EQ. set clairity and definition up from your guitaroutput and playingstyle and then you go!I have used pure booster on almost all my clean profiles to lifen them up a bit!

I agree about the clean profiles. I think EVERY one of my clean profiles I use a light compression and pure boost (about +.6), based off Mbritt profile presets

that's strange I tried both the DXR10 and 12 and I found the 12 to be a little boxy
