Well @paults, I use GMail, the new messages are in bold the same in Outlook, I visit some other forums - there is popup, where there is new message So I gracefully disagree with your suggestion

Yes, I was referring to this. I just have the example of GMail - when I get new message besides new bold message header I can see: Inbox(1) - how do you think, why google does this?

When someone sends me a Message, the top of the web page shows Notifications 1 and Messages 1
I have 222 Notifications and 3 Messages.

My personal feel is (and this thread kinda shows it) that suggestions like these only eat up bandwith in Kemper resources (which are not infinite as we know).

Debating how Google would have implemented is totally pointless to me.

My opinion is that current notification system is not well-working. It shows the number of messages, but doesn't show number of new messages. Google was just most obvious example. New messages shown in bold is not rocket science
It *does* show just the New notifications. You are 222 notifications behind in your reading
If you have already looked at the threads and messages related to those Notifications, you can clear the notifications, and start again with none of them.
But, before you do that - click on one. If you click on a notification, it is no longer included in the list.
Doesn't the board employ licensed proprietary software, meaning that such a tweak wouldn't be allowed under the license agreement?
