I've read a few threads where this was discussed but never really found a solution, unless I missed it. Is there a fix for this "cabless" distortion that happens occasionally after changing presets?

Do you mean switching profiles? No sure what exactly you are doing. How old were the threads that were related to you issue, you may have been better off to post under one of those. I'm sure someone will chime in once you elaborate on exactly what you are doing when you don't hear the cab doing its part.

Are you using version 3.2.0 or 3.2.1?

3.2.1 is it possible the update didn't take? It's showing that during startup.
FYI as far as I know this thing still happens when changing presets even in 3.21. It happens to me as I'm using Rig Manger (computer librarian) and not very often. Since 3.21 is still in Beta, I personally don't mind as it only happens when it's connected through USB, but your unit is not a dud that's for sure. I'm sure the issue will be fixed at some point as it's being addressed, unfortunately, even though 3.21 was specifically addressing this issue and it minimized the times it happen, it's still not a complete cure, at least in my case.
