Hello. I just received the KPA less than a week ago. Was fairly impressed until using in during a band rehearsal last night. It started off sounding pretty decent, although it was clear that some EQ adjustments would be necessary for mix in a band situation. However, after an hour or so I found the Mater Volume dimed and the unit still losing volume and becoming thin sounding (8 ohm Orange 2X12, rig volumes set fairly high). I tried a full system reboot and no change. I will spend some time this weekend seeing if this condition persists. However, for this much money, I have no patience for dealing with these types of issues. Initially, at half master volume, the thing was taking my head off. Has anyone else experienced this with the KPA? May be headed back to Sweetwater very quickly.

Sorry to hear that. Seems like you are talking about a powered Kemper going into the Orange cab?
-
Yes. I have the KPA Powerhead, cabinet sims disabled at Monitor Output, going into an Orange 2X12.

I do only have an unpowered one. So nothing more than a general advice here: do a backup onto USB-stick. Just in case...

I second this advice. Make a backup and open a support ticket (link is in my signature) to see if this can be resolved quickly and easily.
Which version of the firmware are you on?

Not sure about the firmware. Just received from Sweetwater, so would suspect it is most current.

It's probably not the most current, no. Unless they take the time to update all units they ship out (which I doubt)

OK. Just sent a message to Kemper Support. Will see what they have to say. Needless to say, my patience is limited in light of how expensive this amp is, and the fact that I am under a 30-day return period with Sweetwater.

Try turning your power boost knob and see if the boost activates. Even though my power boost is on and is at the correct setting when I turn on the amp I have to to give it a twist to activate the boost. Not sure why, if anyone know why let me know.

Check your linked volumes ( unlink everything to test). I had an issue with inconsistant volumes and it turned out to be that...
-
OK, this issue turned out to be the linked Output Monitor volume setting. Not sure how this got changed in the first place. Thanks for the feedback.

That seems to be a new bug - I updated to next version of 5.xx and seems like it's fixed...

Yeah mine I think changed when I upgraded, seemed random, but it totally solved it for me ( after much frustration)..no issues since.
