Acoustic guitar sound with half-acoustic guitar

  • Hey guys,

    I'm wondering if there's a good profile of an acoustic guitar when the input isn't an acoustic guitar. We'll play an acoustic gig in two weeks and I decided to go with my Epiphone Casino, that is a half-acoustic guitar. I started to play with the integrated profile "Acoustic B" but that doesn't sound acoustic to me.

    I also thought about profiling my own acoustic sound but I don't really know how. I could "refine" an existing profile by positioning a mic in front of my western guitar, but how do I do that thing with those kemper-generated profiling sounds? I could position a tiny loudspeaker inside my western guitar and let those sounds play. But will that work? And will that profile sound like an acoustic guitar, when I plug in an electric guitar?

    Perhaps there is another workaround for that kind-of stuff?!

    Thanks for your answers.
    Fred

  • My experience is that an acoustic sound depends also very much on the strings.(In any case the< should be almost new)
    A versatile Rig is "Acoustimax" by Tuna in the RE.
    Interesting Acoustic Sims you can find from Ruppert in the RE.

    I use such Rigs for strumming with a Strat but I tried them once also with a hollowbody.
    For picking I did not find profiles I like for e-guitars.

    For me picking cries for an acoustic guitar.

  • Hi ,

    Check Bert Meulendijks Acoustic pack !!! It has lots of options for strumming, and picking ,also different mics used and Nylon string settings etc.. I have a real nice acoustic but i always use my Strat with Berts pack .

    Its Top notch :thumbup::thumbup:

  • I've always felt let down by simulated acoustic sounds coming from magnetic pickups. My solution if I need some form of acoustic sound from an electric guitar is to fit a piezo bridge/preamp-system such as Ghost from Graph Tech. It can be fitted on several bridge-designs including the tune-o-matic in the Casino.
