I have one key IR I use with all my pre sets. Curious if it can be used here too?
Can I use custom IR's in a Kemper that I use in my Ax8?

Sure. Just convert the IRs into cabs using cab maker and then use them with the amp portion of your profiles.

That is if you have it in 44k wav format.

Cool thanks guys!

One more question about the cabs. Do most of you mess with changing cabs blocks/IR's or doe the profiles you buy or trade come with killer ones baked in and you opt to not mess with them??
In the fractal world messing with IR's or having the right one is crucial but also a huge pain if you find yourself sifting through dozens. -
I mostly use Celestion IRs.. love them..

Mostly the Cabs that are a part of the original profile are the best match, even to swap these on other profiles. However, there can be an instance where an IR is just perfect for something.
I have lately been developing IRs that work just as well with the Kemper as cabs made with the profile but this is something that has been a challenge.

It’s a different dynamic from using other products, since every Kemper Studio or Merged Rig you load includes its own cabinet.
I think the majority of Kemper users do not change cabinets. If they don’t like the sound of a particular rig, they Edit it, or try another rig.
The users who do change cabinets either use the cabinet from a different studio profile, from a Merged Profile, or from a converted IR.

@paults that's what I figured. I would rather not go down the IR rabbit hole again. Having said that in my Ax8 I have one custom IR that kills factory ones as well as the many included in purchased bundles and makes all pre sets sound 10x better.
Can't hurt to do what ever conversion is needed and try it? -
Obviously can't hurt to try.
But I'm in the same boat... AX8 owner and I have 1000's of Ownhammer IRs, a smattering of Celestions, and a handful of specialty IRs I've collected over the years.
The first & second time I owned a Kemper (DOH!) , I never changed a single IR. This time around, I'm going to experiment a bit more.

It is certainly worth a try - let us know how your converted Custom IR sounds when you add it to Direct Amplifier Rigs and/or use it to replace the cabs in Merged Rigs.
What cab/speaker/mic combination is your IR?
