Brand new Kemper Profiler Unpowered Rack and Profiler remote owner!

Hello!

I did not know about Kemper products until just a few weeks ago when I was checking out what equipment Matt Bellamy of Muse was using nowadays. I was impressed to see he no longer used the Diezel Heads for live performances but had moved to multiple kemper units. After watching what seemed to be 100 videos, I decided to upgrade my rig to a Kemper Unprofiled rack and remote. Got a really great deal for it.

I received both products today and have ben messing around with the infinite amount of options. Seriously impressed how accurate a lot of these amp sounds feel to the "real thing". Never would I have guessed that I could obtain that "Brown Sound" that has been sought after for decades.

I had some questions regarding Rack units (since I am new to them).

1. What rack unit do you suggest for someone that will be playing out, but will not be traveling via plane? I was looking at SKB and Gator 6u Cases (would the shallow option work or standard?)
2. For playing live shows I would like to use my Friedman 1x12 cabinet. Seeing as my Kemper is unpowered, what power amp should I go for? The Friedman handles 65 watt.
3. is a rack EQ worth it?
4. What rack power conditioner do you suggest for all of these items?

1. Got the Thon Shallow 5U Rack. Fits the Remote as well (plastic, not wood).
2. Read about the discussion FRFR vs. Guitar Cabs first, concerning Power Amps I can't help you.
3. There are various EQs in the KPA, therefore I never saa the point of external EQing.
4. Do not know either but there are plenty options. Furman / Fryette seems to be often used.

Thanks! What does FRFR mean? I keep seeing it mentioned around here.

Full Range Flat Response cabinets are used by many people with the KPA. An FRFR cabinet allows the user to get the sound of different speakers when changing Rigs (Marshall+Celestion, Fender+Eminence, Mesa+EV) . But, if all the amps you want to use sound the way you like with the Friedman cabinet, no problem there

are FRFR essentially PA speakers?

Also, couldnt I just use an EQ rack such as the Behringer Ultracurve pro DEQ2496 to Profile my cab to EQ a flat response out of my Cab instead of having to purchase an actual FRFR cab?

PA speakers can be full range and technically you could EQ your cab but with say a Yamaha DXR10-12 or 15 you have power too.
