My new house has a ghost. I gotta find where this sound is coming from!

...and report back. Now that I've mentioned clipping, another person has started noticing it on theirs. I don't want to go through the hassle of getting a replacement unit if it's just a software thing.
Play your low E string on a bunch of profiles (stock ones, too). Do you hear some staticy dirt that's not the amp distorting? (Keep your sensitivity knobs way way down, and make sure the input and output lights stay green... at least some of us are getting clipping that's not showing up in the lights... fwiw, I have VERY low output pickups on all my guitars.)
I'll try tonight, I have not noticed it like I did with the Fender Mustang Ranch amplifier.

Are you sure it's not the noise gate doing something strange? Both of my guitars are somewhat noisey (single coils) and at higher volumes it's readily apparent that "something" is bleeding through into the signal. I assume it was the noisegate opening up and staying open enough for the notes to decay, but ALSO for the noise to creep in at the same time.
Maybe we have the same problem? -
Positive. Noise gate is always off. Even with the gate all the way up, it still clips.
-
My noisegate seems to have a mind of it's own. Sometimes when I turn it up, the level goes down and vice/versa lol! I checked out your clips, are these completely squeaky clean profiles? If not, can you do the same test with super clean stuff? Truth be told there is definitely some high end hash or aliasing that I hear sometimes in a lot of stuff under close microscope, but it hasn't driven me completely nuts (yet). It would not hurt to contact Sweetwater, you might be able to get a Black one as replacement
-
What Input preset did you use ?
-
The "is this clipping" stage was last week. It does clip on clean tones. It's not the sensitivity knobs. I'm just wanting to see if anyone else's is doing it. Try it and listen closely. Hopefully yours doesn't do it. But now a beta tester has told me that since I mentioned it, he notices it now. Just curious if anyone else will notice it if they're looking for it. And it's not overdrive. It's not soundcloud. Just, if you get a chance, try it and see of yours does it

Ive just checked and no it doesn't happen here . I'm still on FW 1.03 if that helps

Thanks chris

Quick test with a Strat and a bunch of clean profiles on good 'phones. Some grungy, low level hiss and noise from the amps but nothing I'd call clipping. 1.05 here.
-
can you post a sample - low level "hizz" clipping noise - it's all just words!
hard to really tell without hearing it. -
I tested on different clean amps. nothing unusual here. FW 1.05.
-
ive experienced something like the static you might be referring to. happened when importing the odd corrupt profile, and recently with 1.05 firmware. restarting the unit usually solves it though.have you tried rebooting/ different firmware?
-
Noticing some little artifacts like you've mentioned but nothing serious, I wouldn't say that it bothers me at all. 1.05.
-
Just tested with different guitars, Strat with 5.8k, Tele with 7.3k, Charvel with 17k, no clipping. The only thing I can hear is some low level static type noise while placing my ear at the monitors. It goes away when turning the volume down on the guitars or enabling the Noise Gate slightly.
-
Is 1.0.5 stable yet? And can I go back to 1.0.4 after I try 5?
-
I tested a bunch, no problem here. E string happy.
-
I think we have to pluck our E string all at the same time
