7 string Drop G# Fret buzz help please

  • So of course as soon as I finally got my kemper all set to record my guitar has been having buzzing problems. It’s a 7 string 26.5 scale with a Floyd rose and jumbo frets tuned to G# D# G# C# F# A# D # and when I get to the 5th fret and higher the string buzzes terribly. I tried raising the string gauge to 68 than a 70 fixed my intonation problems but still the buzz. Also raised the action as high as I could to the point of being scared the screw would come out being so high still a buzz. Tried adjusting the trust rod too and still the buzz. Any metal guys have any experience with this? Just wanna finally record my songs with the kemper I’ve waited so long to get.

  • If its part way down the neck, only gonna be 2 things:

    Bow in the neck
    Frets not level

Either way, best bet is to take it to a guitar luthier as it sounds like it needs a full set up. Its irrelevent tha its a 7 string but changing gauge or tuning can affect the set up.
