sorry, I sold mine last week. I'm sure someone else will step in here but if they don't, I'm sure I can borrow it for a day from the guy who bought it. not until next week though.

Sorry, I couldn't resist! -
I can fire up my old BOSS floorboard if it'd make you happy.

I got a VG99 awhile back just to see how it was. Hated it and sold it right away. All the "modeling" felt like an effect and sounded like a "mp3" is the best I can describe it as.

Thanks very much that would be great

You'll note that I left a cocked wah in the A stomp just in case you didn't get enough from the amp on it's own.

Thankyou Which boss floorboard is this?

This is the much maligned GT6, to be honest I owned a GX700 before this which was BOSS' first COSM Unit (after Roland introduced the VG99) and I really couldn't tell much difference, although I preferred the form factor and interface on the GX. I never upgraded to any of the subsequent boards either as nothing seemed to change on the amp sim side there, and the FX had ceased to be analog after the GT5.
There's a few variants of the Recto, but I just jammed on a default type 1 recto with it's default cab. If you want other variations then let me know.

VG-99 has some great amp sounds, but NOT out of the box.
If understood its capable of anything.
Its is difficult to program but once learned its a wonderful instrument.
Its totally up to the programer. -
vg99 is quite good i had one for a while and got some great sounds from it though i did prefer my gt8 slightly even though the modeling was near identical. I honestly don't care about authenticity of sound with any guitar product i just see all sounds as different textures different ingredients to make your cake and the cake is the goal

Chris
Its easy, take a KPA Mesa profile and turn the Presence to zero.
-
You mean 10?

Some unforgiving boosts at 1.0K and 4.0K with an EQ, then a very little phasereffect and then you got to try to get the crap away with the usual tonecontrols...that should work

I just tried your profile and its pretty much exactly what i was looking for thank you Its amazing how the kemper has even captured the over compressed nature of the boss unit. This sound layered underneath Jefonyx,s dual recto orange which is my fave Mesa profile in the kemper has the perfect blend for the project im working on Cheers

Exactly, and you Bill, are the best programmer I have ever heard with the VG-99 - amazing tones you have produced! (Boss really should have hired you!) -
