It really looks bad when the actual head of a company is publicly miscrediting competitive products in numerous ways and even doing that more frequently this year.
Users know that such unethical business behaviour is never ok and have discussed this many times over the years on other forums. I don't know anyone who like that sort of company behaviour.
If a product developer is aggressively competitive by nature and lack PR courtesy and finesse,
it might be good to focus 100% on the product so other staff can do the company's public relations in a professional manner.
That is a win win situation for both the company and users, without creating any friction and bad reputation. It's sad and just another classic case of spreading FUD about a competitor.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear,_uncertainty_and_doubt
"Fear, uncertainty and doubt, frequently abbreviated as FUD, is a tactic used in sales, marketing, public relations,[1][2] politics and propaganda.
FUD is generally a strategic attempt to influence perception by disseminating negative and dubious or false information. An individual firm, for example, might use FUD to invite unfavorable opinions and speculation about a competitor's product; to increase the general estimation of switching costs among current customers; or to maintain leverage over a current business partner who could potentially become a rival.
The term originated to describe disinformation tactics in the computer hardware industry but has since been used more broadly.[3] FUD is a manifestation of the appeal to fear." -

It's also pretty interesting to check on Ebay how many Axes are for sale and how many Kempers
To me it looks like many users are moving away from Fractal and towards Kemper. Just speculation on my part though. But watching the CEO of Fractal totally freaking out on a public forum should tell us something.

I wouldn't have made the connection regarding a sales slowdown. I don't know Cliff, but his comments of late are much akin to other people I have known who have a business and go a little tacky when a competitor comes along and people genuinely like what the competitor's product delivers. They generally turn into what I call "Elmer F.U.D.". Cliff comes off as a political attack squad... He's really not doing himself any favors...
The AXE2 is an interesting piece of gear. Many folks have played amps for a long time. For some of us, the Fractal stuff sounds nice but it lacks what the Kemper pulls off. You either hear it or feel it, but it's there with the Kemper and it's not there with the AXE...
. It delivers what I looked for in real amps. -
It is also possible, that the economy in general, along with the Axe having been available for six years, that the "no wait" situation is most likely a combination of many factors besides just the KPA.
The Fractal Forum has over 17,000 members, while we here have only 1,400.
This might indicate that the market for the AXE has reached a temporary saturation point, whereas the KPA is a new, and interesting, alternative for the (fewer) new adopters out there.
Either way, I think the world economy may be the biggest factor here. -
Just to nitpic, fractal forum member number is right now 16428.
Isn't kemper members just almost 2000, after counting recent numbers here.
I'm tired so my counting might be lacking -

If you look carefully, donbarzini is the one in front of the stage with the green sweatshirt...on backwards...trying not to pay too much attention to the dancers - but drawn, inexorably, to stare.
