I was wondering if i can connect my unpowered kemper with xlr's to yamaha hs 7, kemper spdif out to spdif in in scarlett (for recording) and connect these monitors with jack's to scarlett outputs simultaneously?
Did anyone tried that? Will it work?
Can it be done? Yes. Why would you want to? Just listen to the speakers out of the interface. My interface allows me to monitor directly from the Kemper or directly from the DAW or I control how much of each (blending) with the monitor knob. So is does what you're asking for without additional wiring or switching.
For what you've asked: You will need an a/b speaker switch to physically hook one speaker to one of two outputs. And you probably will have to use TS cables instead. Search Amazon for speaker switches. I've seen most with RCA jacks so that means you will have to buy additional breakout cables. But you cannot blend both the Kemper and Daw signals.
