Getting good metal tone for recording

  • Hello everyone!

This question is for metalheads and everyone that knows something about good metal tone in recording.

So i wonder if my tone is already good or even maxed out for recording? Currently I am recording it via SPDIF so the quality shoud be at its best.

The thing is i dont know if my tone is good to record. I tried shaping it as best as i could but i am complete beginner at this so i just wanted to ask you.

Of course it is not shaped in DAW and effects are not included. Just pure recording from kemper.

The link is to the folder with this recording.

    Please give me your thougts.

PS. the tone is shaped for black metal:)

  • You are never going to know if it's good enough to fit in the mix unless you record it with a mix. Then you'll know how much tweaking to do which is mostly EQing anyway. The track you posted sounds like it needs quite a bit of low end but that depends on what the kick and bass guitar tack sounds like against it.

Learn to mix. It will make you a better musician.
