Ozzy tone match, Eric Johnson Fuzz, and MORE

  • Checked my number of downloads versus donations - it's just over half a percent. so every 200 times someone downloads my profiles, they donate. Never say never, but I don't like the idea of charging for profiles, but at half a percent, it's just not really making a lot of sense either. I spend a lot of time and effort profiling, and have tens of thousands of dollars worth of amps, some of which I still haven't profiled.

I'm not complaining, just stating a fact - if things are like this then it's likely I'm not going to go out of my way to provide any more profiles in this format. If you use the profiles and want to keep the profile flow flowing, you know what to do. :)

Ok, enough of that, now on with the profiles contained in this pack!

    How about:

My Ozzy Crazy Train tone match. Yes, you can have the Randy Rhoads tone at your fingertips!

My Boston tone match. Same thing. I didn't use a rockman, used a real tube amp and applied a match EQ. IMHO this made for a fuller sound than the rockman devices.

Mark Cameron Ocean Mod - 50 watt Purple Marshall, modded by the elusive king of california amp mods himself.

Trainwreck Express clone - some profiles with a Telefunken preamp tube in V1, some with a USA GE 7025/12ax7.

1974 50 watt Marshall - bone stock, not a lot of gain but toneful mojo

Eric Johnson Fuzz Face profiles, fed into the marshall. I had to hand build a small device to interface between the Kemper out and the Fuzz face input so it would work properly. This was a huge pain in the ass to profile!

All amps except for the tone match ones (boston and ozzy) were into a marshall slant clone cab loaded with Celestion UK greenbacks, and miked with a vintage SM57.

Would enjoy some feedback here or via email - let me know what you think of these profiles!

    Pete

  • Pete,

Thanks for your efforts. I had downloaded some of your profiles before, but haven't put any into serious rotation yet. This new pack looks very interesting. I'm going to give it a go and let you know what I think. I went ahead and made a donation. Hope it helps out!

  • Hey Pete, thanks again for all sour efforts!
I have donated before and will do so in the future.
But c'mon people: if someone with Pete's skills is continuously delivering the goods and politely asking for some compensation, why is it so difficult to push that DONATE button? :?::?:

  • Small donation bro. I have just began to try your profiles. Your effort is huge. I respect also a lot what you did with MTS modules :)

About profiles, I focused mostly on the MarkIII Coliseum profile.

A lot of people are searching for what they call a "A good IIC+ tone". The amp is so versatile that it is almost impossible. However, the MarkV fails totally to repoduce the mojo of MarkIIc+ / MarkIII.

Even if they sound perhaps too dry for my needs (but they sound very good), they are the profiles that match the closest the DNA of MarkIIc+ / Mark III tone, especially for Heavy rythmics. When mixed with Tills Recto cab003 and post graph EQ to tame the 10khz freq, sounds really great for my needs.

Is this amp yours, and would you interested to make new profiles of this BEAST ?

Of course, as for me any work deserves money, a donation for this will be done for this job ;)

I own a MarkIIC+ which has to go to the doctor and I suck in profiling. My approach of what a good IIC+ tone is is a more ambient miking perhaps.

I think the following video shows what a great IIC+ sounds like when we play it. Ok this is ambient tone (camera mic) , but the tone retranscribes well the particular low end of this amp and the creamy hi-end :)

I also posted a long wav file which compiles (isolated Petrucci stuff and real misc IIC+ stuff) :

    Let me know if interested

    Once again, great job
