Last nite jamming away I noticed as I changed profiles I got clicks for the first say 10 seconds once a profile was selected. Maybe I should do a system reset, I've heard people talk about that in these forums. What's the proper procedure for this. I don't want to screw up my KPA
Clicks for first few seconds when profile is selected?

Well, I did it once, it didn't mess mine up.
Hold System button and then turn machine on.
There's other methods, but, I'll let the pros chime in. -

No, after the reset you need to enter your username again, that's it.

Done a reset, I'm still getting clicks I wonder if its because I'm on beta firmware 1.8.0

Are you using Spdif? If so, it might be problem with the way you have the KPA and soundcard set up.

Yep I'm using SPDIF into my Pro Tools HD 192 interface and setting the 192 to slave. I don't think there is much left to do

Still...it must be 44,1 and the sample size can also generate clicks. Also make sure to select fixed latency not to incur in phasing problems by overdubbing -
All my sessions run at 44.1 24bit the clicks are coming even when im just input monitoring in pro tools and nothing is being recorded
-
That's really unusual....have you tried another cable?
-
That's a good idea it could be the cable but they are brand new and I don't have a spare at the mo, ill try and borrow one of someone if I can.
-
If you have 2 of them just swap them (obviously do not reamp for testing)
-
Ok ill try and do that tomorrow and post my findings. Thanks so far
-
If it's only happening in the first 10 seconds maybe it's a timing issue with the HD acquiring the clock from the KPA? Just speculating at this point though.

The clicks are intermittent they come and go when I was testing last nite so its just not the first 10 seconds. One thing that did happen last nite I was playing a clean sound and you could hear the clicking I then pressed the reverb button to turn it off and the clicks went?????? Then I was jamming on another profile when I turned the stomps off the clicks started. This is very strange????

I used to have and still have these clicks when I am connecting the KPA via SPDIF to my RME Fireface UCX. The settings are correct and yet there are the clicks. My solution was: I don't really need the SPDIF connection and if I need it, recording the Git-Studio signal from the SPDIF, I don't have the clicks - only when a full Rig is engaged.
I bought a rather cheap SPDIF cable and this could be a problem. Maybe it has to do with certain interfaces and their communication with the KPA. Yet, if you don't intend to reamp, there's no problem with connecting the KPA via the balanced outputs to the interface. I also don't have any latency issues (which would be unrecognisable anyway) because the Fireface has direct input monitoring, which I believe most interfaces have today. -
I used the Main out yesterday and there were no clicks so it looks like ive got to do it that way. Hope the KPA team can sort this problem out as we have paid for a feature (SPDIF) that doesnt function properly. But im sure it didnt do the clicks in the precious firmware so im assuming its a bug and will be sorted in the next release Im also going to buy some new leads and try that

Tried a different cable last nite and still the clicks were there

I also had an still have this problems, when going SPDIF. I corrected the clock settings in my RME Multiface II Settting Dialog and the most clicks are gone. BUT, when i select another profile i get clicks in the first 3-5 seconds. Then they are gone and i can reamp without any troubles. But the initial clicks (small pops) just after loading a profile are still there.

I get this too, always have really. I kinda figured performance mode would fix it but it never came out. There is no combination of settings that fixes the few clicks I get switching between rigs. I have almost always used SPDIF into an EMU 1212m which is set in slave 44.1.
