This i such a BS.
everyone has the right to voice his/her opinion here.
"This is such (a) BS." is not the kind of argument that'll work in this forum.
I heard one of the best reasons against this in a UAD video:
A user said if he'd have visual feedback of what he was doing by ear, he might get concerned about applying cuts and boosts that were too extreme, instead of just trusting his ears.
What is weird, is that when it's profiling, the '' kemper amp sound '' that is supposed to be identical to the '' reference sound '' is not.
removing the 'unknown' piece of gear first is a very common troubleshoot procedure and the necessary next step.
It is not a question og volume, I am playing quite loud and transpose sounds like a harmonizer gone awry
I have a gig today and it would have been great to use the transpose as the band plays 1/2 step down. Oh well.
hi.
please post a short recording of the problem and the rig.
thanks.
hi.
please post a short recording of the problem.
right.
I'm just saying that since the Profiler has proven countless times to work in a amp -> speaker -> mic setup and even in a Amp -> DI setup to replicate the amp's sound flawlessly, the unknown in this equation is the Hotplate.
If you want a DI profile (and this seems to be the case) I'd try to use the amp with a speaker connected and with a simple DI box (or the Hotplate without attenuation?) in between the amp and the speaker, this has been proven to work, and we even released a Rig Pack with profiles created this way.
can you take a profile from the amp's send (if it has one)?
nevermind... 1979 JMP hehe...
I have no personal experience with the hotplate, but your best bet would be to connect a speaker (even if you're going for a DI profile) and take the profile from a direct box between the speaker and the amp.
p.s.
you were monitoring a distorted DI signal over headphones? ouch, that must hurt...
p.p.s.
even better: start profiling a 'traditional' setup amp -> speaker - > mic to get the hang of it
I like an overdrive with an EQ. I like the TS model but I would love it with a bass knob. I guess if they could add some more tweaks to the pedals that are there would be nice. I guess the EQ block is the way to go. I am still very happy with my Kemper and everyday I like it more. Thanks for the time on this
one of the standard uses of a TS is to remove low frequencies prior to the amp's distortion (this it does by design), and then to add low frequencies back to the signal post distortion, with the Stack EQ for exsample.
also check out the Plus distortion - it's really more of an overdrive - and add a graphic EQ.
A graphical representation of something even better!

For instance, there may be different equalisation points within one rig (the tone stack of the amp itself, the tone knobs of different stomps and effects, several different EQ stomps in series...). If you hear a certain undesired peak in the low, mid or high spectrum, a quick glance at an EQ stomp should tell you whether it is the culprit or not. And a graph is just easier to see and interpret than a numerical value, especially if it is buried behind a couple of pages of settings...
now I don't know if you're asking for a visual representation of the curve you set in the EQ or if you're asking for a frequency analyser.
After tweaking and re-tweaking and renaming, I'd like to know how far away I an from the original value setting of gain. It could be stored in the tag. Ideally, i would like to have displayed permanently in small font somewhere.
if you renamed the rig, you'll have the original somewhere and you can look up the original value.
the crunch profile is great! lovely amp.
the iso cab he is using is probably the best I heard so far.

I like to get more overdrive pedals, with more controls. like treble, bass, mids. are these available to download?
exactly what are you looking for? What kind of OD sound can't you get with the Profiler?
thanks
don
I'll chime in if you don't mind, just watched this youtube video about the Hoof and found it very tasty
ok, thanks
Well, but given the very mixed feelings people express about the distortion stomps in general and the Muff in particular, it sounds to me like the current implementation doesn't even please someone And somtimes choices can be wrong and should be questioned as you did with the Green Screamer. That particular stomp now sounds pretty much spot on to a version of the original that is regarded higher by many Kemper users as the previous one - or so it seems. Just do that for the Muff and all those people who use a Kemper to play Gilmourish tones will be thankful.
Sure, vintage Muffs are all over the place but there is a kind of general concensus how a "triangle","Rams Head" or "Russian Green" is supposed to sound. I've played many boutique versions of Rams Head and triangles and they do sound remarkable similar - that even goes for the cheap chinese Mooers clone. So if you model - say - a BYOC Large Beaver you are good to go.
just curious,
how do you feel about the Hoof?
I haven't played one (yet) but the adjustable scoop/boost for the mids should be able to cover a lot of ground sonically and make it a relatively versatile Muff.
thoughts?
thanks.
p.s.
on a related note, I'm quite surprise that there isn't more praise for the Plus DS. I love that stomp!
because I have the direct comparison.Unfortunately, the kpa also missing some basic effects (real spring reverb, multihead delays)
well, I had the AxeFx for quite some time before the Profiler was released and while the Profiler certainly has fewer parameters/effect (this is by design) I don't think the effect quality in any way inferior.
I was hoping for something more tangible, if you know what I mean.
I agree a spring reverb would be nice, but this is a difference in quantity, not quality.
this is not realy the right thread for such a discussion, why don't you pm me?
thanks.
I would like to see the effects in the KPA reached the quality level of an AXE FX.
why do you consider the AxeFx effects to be of higher quality?
