Jedi Force Grab yourself a KPA 2day.
A bit Dirty and plenty Guerrilla. Keep 'em coming...
Yeah these are really nice clips - especially the Jimi one! No EQ-ing done - really? That's makes it all the more impressive. I'm always interested in what tweaks people are doing to get their KPA tracks to fit in the mix. Less than a lot of other modellers I wager... but in this case none at all!
A nice advert for Armin - I've not tried his stuff yet (Been using Amp factory) but I'll have to give them a go.
Great stuff - thanks for sharing
Just to be clear, are you saying that the Master LED was clipping (Orange/red) but after altering the volume settings in the Master menu the clipping was reduced i.e the Master LED was no longer clipping orange/red? This confuses me I thought those settings affected external volumes being sent by the KPA rather than any internal clipping...but I'm glad it worked for you!
I think we're talking about different things - e.g clipping within the unit as opposed to clipping on external monitoring? I've struggled quite a bit with keeping the master LED from clipping.
I miss the times when there was one big knob marked volume
*Takes a closer look at logo* Ooooh yeah... Good grief, it's like a Ted Nugent society in here...
But coming from England let me tell you we are plenty dangerous here don't you worry... with our er hot tea and er frightful weather.
Let me tell you, Ted wouldn't wanna go bare chested hunting with arrows around my parts... (donbarzini alert)
Special Limited Edition: Ships with a very special Donbarzini bag...

Careful Guitarnet... check out Rossgun's profile... he has references from SWAT magazines on his site!!!
I'd say anyone who sells delux leather holsters for concealed weapons can be as bold as they like
Good to have you here Rossgun.
Not sure why this should affect the monitor and main outputs differently but with regards to the clipping, I've experienced a few problems like this as well with the input ok but the output light clipping. Have you looked through to check if any of the pre or post pedals/EQ setting have their volumes increased? I've found in a few profiles that I've downloaded where (e.g) a post delay or reverb has a + 2.00 on their volume, usually on the last page of the effect sub menu, so it's easily missed. If a few other stomps have been set like this it all adds up... Just a thought.
Christophe, in all your years of working on the Access Virus did you ever encounter stuff like this before from other rival companies?
This will all end up like this I'm telling you...

Please... feel free to speculate on which gang is which
I must have missed this "dirty guerrilla marketing campaign" - did it look anything like this:

Not so much dirty - perhaps a little bit muddy...
I bought a couple of your amazing profiles and now I think I'm gonna drop all of the money I had saved for porn.
I hear you. This Metal pack got released and I'm thinking I'll have to give crack a miss this month...
Very nice meat to those rhythm guitars - did you need to do much in the way of post production EQ?
Sounds great
OK, what about this compromise? Add a "high res" mode/option that uses the processing to fix aliasing when dealing with highly compressed or distorted tones on the amp or settings. That way you don't have to add any funky logic to try and work out when to engage, and users can opt between more FX (where amp tone quality doesn't matter as much) or more pure amp tone (where it does).
Throw in a DSP usage fuel gauge page in the rig settings (or always displayed while adding/changing FX and amp settings) and everyone should get what they want.
+1
Some very good ideas here... seems like a smart move of CK to poll this community for ideas. I especially like the DSP fuel gauge option (Similar to Line 6 as 'The Sage' pointed out immediately)
Thanks to Christoph for taking the time to weigh in on this - any option that gives control of resources to the user seems to be the way to go. We all have different needs I imagine... Although I prefer not to think of what Don Barzini's are... cue some reference to a "hard button"
Brett
I added a few more stars in the rig exchange to bump up the ratings. Sounds great - thanks a lot!
Yes - Men never tire of finding new ways to interface with their equipment. Especially remotely. I, a Man, approve of this.
I've not read all the nitty gritty, but isn't there pretty through MIDI mapping?
That's a good point but I'm not sure if the NRPN which have been released recently include how to change things like patch names. I would imagine an editor would have to come after things like performance mode has being released. We do seem to be ticking things off gradually though, with items such as favourites and copy and paste (for patch names) being added over the last few weeks...
I've been using the Boss FV500H pedal (Hi impedance) for volume - but... it has a useful 'exp' output that allows you to plug in a TRS cable and connect it direct into the KPA pedal input at the back of the unit... seems to work very well for me. As always with these things there is a little 'give' before the vol/wah kicks in. I think some clever soul here (Fretboard miner I think) added a piece of foam to allow for this...
Just tried this - If it is volume you want then CC # 007 works for me - just check that the Exp1 light is on with the HD500 rather than Exp2. I have an empty patch setup with no effects or amps selected.
With CC#01 (Wah) I'm finding that the volume is turned turned down as well as closing the filter in the toe position. You could alter the min and max values to tighten things around the sweet spot of the wah I suppose. Also experiment with the different wah settings on the second page of the KPA wah effect page.00
I've always found that the PodHD500 expression adds some interference 'noise' when used, so I use a Boss FV500H for things like volume and wah.
Shouldn't that be CC 007 for volume...?
