Salut Dje , les mécaniques je sais pas trop si c'est du standard sur cte ptite tête ??? Je te conseille les spertzel ou grover mais ça raque pas mal , t'as changé les cordes déjà , ça pourrait aider ??
-
Yeah !
Impressive playing & tone , Souther Harmo & musical companion is one of my all time favorite album.
I would have chosen a cranked Fender like the vibrochamp'66 for this song , but this marshall is awesome

Hi !
I've set up a little blind test for you , trained ears should recognize the real stuff easily !
Here is the challenge : there are 4 parts in this clip (after the small intro ) , only one is played on a real 1970 Gisbon custom les Paul.
The 3 other parts are played on the great but inexpensive copy by Wilkinson, the V100 ( the Gibson is worth 20 times the price !!!) Both guitars were recorded at similar gain and without any post EQ & FX .
The amp is the trainwreck ( Liverpool ) by Joptunes , tweaked for les paul ( I can make it available on Rig ex ) . I must say this rig is clearly in my personal top 10 , really impressive on both instruments.

Tell me wich part is the 70's Gibby 1 / 2 / 3 or 4 ??
-
Trop cool , c'est une 3/4 la strat ?
J'ai bien essayé avec mon fiston , mais il veut pas apprendre 'you really got me' ( version Kinks hein !!) avec papa
-
Yep not that strange for me , I like the overall band and some of your harmonies are very cool. Reminds me a bit King Crimson 90's era
-
Wow , that tone is really thick and sharp
-
Lol excellent !!! I miss the cooking tube smell as well as the old 70's tolex smell & spring verb
-
Cool stuff Lance , as usual

Thx a lot for the feedback !! Scrapped copper and tortoise are much prettier in real life than on the pics ! Lots of love for root and matte finish
Price will be decided by the buyers and it will help establish a future fixed price since I will go for an auction starting at 120€ ( the price of a pedal) . Keep in mind it's around 4 to 8 hours of work for each of these boxes + the price of the bare metal box itself.

Hi !
We just finished three more prototypes. Here they are , we are very happy with the tests. Those boxes will soon fly to Germany for Christoph Kemper and team - I wish one of these will fly to Michael Wagener in order to match his beautiful recording studio.
I'll soon get a few boxes for sale on Ebay, but a very limited quantity since every paint is made by an artist and there are lots of step to achieve this result ( 8 layers of paint & layered copper film, 8 of varnish ...).
In order to know which design is your favorite I've set up a poll , this way we will know what to paint for the next batch.
The 1st design is a ' root wood' - ( 'Loupe d'Orme' in French ) with a glossy finish

The 2nd one is the same but darker and with a matte finish ( for Gianfranco )
[Blocked Image: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xuRWCg_U3TE/U6lHtvrVIEI/AAAAAAAAAME/5iZBh0W1Hig/s1600/DSC04830.JPG]
The 3rd one is a ' tortoise wood ' with matte finish
[Blocked Image: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rKrdylRfjEo/U6lH2ascRiI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/scfavF1KE9I/s1600/DSC04839.JPG]
the 4th one is 'scrapped copper' matte finish, my favorite

On demand design will probably be available later on.

Thx a lot Sean for these wonderful rigs. Your profiling skill is getting better and better
That amp is really something , covers lots of territory with the gain knob and the guitar volume pot ( The who, Hendrix, blues, Jazz ...) The quality of the crunch is really impressive, the cleans are top notch too, you will definitely hear each string whatever gain setting you have. The rig is very sensitive to the attack , warm and sparkle.
I don't know why but the sustain is very very long on this rig, I wish I could get a 'sustain' parameter on the KPA to get it on other rigs.
I did swap the cab to my special JTM30 2x10 cab to get a little bit less treble and the result is amazing on my strat. I've uploaded the rig on the rig exchange ' trainwreck clone strat' for strat users.
-
Hello, the problem is probably that some rigs will never sound right on a strat , you should consider using only the right rigs that will match your strat. For heavier stuff , switch to the LesPaul , you don't see that much heavy metal bands on SC strats
You also should borrow a few strats from your friends or invite them to try the KPA, it's probably a flaw in the US strat you got, you know I had a similar issue with mine US strat.
I agree that some rigs sound fabulous on strats while lots of hi to very hi gain will sound like cheap solid state amps on cranked fuzzboxes without a minimal tweaking.
give a try to the stock peacemaker rig from Joptunes ( available on Rig ex as ' Peace ' ) or the heavy start rig I did tweak for my squier ( 'Vibrochamp'66 heavy') , both of them sound full , heavy and without any buzz in the drive.

here is a pic, I've exactly the same model.

Some reviews said that they come without any setup from the factory , be prepared to pay a good setup & you won't regret it.

In addition I would say that this V100 has everything you need from a real gibson : same woods , set neck, comfortable neck & playing, very good sustain, warm tone, solid rock tone. It can play everything , even jazz licks. And yes it looks as good as it sounds ( mine is a tobacco flamed top sunburst).
I have compared mine to numerous Gibson ( even a custom 70 Gibson worth 5000€ sitting next to it in my office ) and it's 97% like the real stuff, even too much Les Paulish sometimes ( the honk & nasal is a little bit too much on certain rigs ). I tried lots of Epiphone and even some Gibson studio that where crappy guitars compared to my V100. I just tried a tokai once, and the V100 is very close , for only a third of the price.
The sustain compared to the 70's custom is like 7/9 seconds while the Custom is 10/12 sec.
I don't know about the stock pick ups since mine came upgraded, but the pearly gates on it is fantastic, you got this very hot ZZtop tone on vol10 while you get the classic PAF on vol 8/9 , and lots of subtle tones lowering to 4/5 , same story with the treble pot.
They come so cheap ( I've seen a 2nd hand at 150 € !!!) , that you can really afford a couple of great pickups since the woods are the same you find on the Gibson. Allow a good setup , and you got your real LesPaul.
I would buy another one instantly if I could find another one similar to mine, I wonder if the quality is still the same on last batches.

Thx man , we now got an axe FX in our KPA

here is another track featuring the heavy rig on a strat :

Simon B if you read us , please tell us the story of this amp and provide more profiles from this fantastic Fender classic !!!!
-
Full song is done with a single rig I've modded from a 66' vibrochamp fender rig and my beloved squier strat.
I need to polish it , work on the mix & redo some drum part , finish the last part with some soloing areas & breaks , add an outro,
some leads would be welcome is Djemass is available

Enjoy

Hi !
I got one , very good LP to me , one of my main axe now . I paid mine 250€ 2nd hand with a Duncan pearly gates HB on it, it's a beautiful flamed top LP. At this price, it's clearly a bargain regarding the awesome finish & quality.
A better way to get convinced is to listen to it : here are some tracks I made, where it's really shining on the best rigs I could find for her.

Thx a lot for the last batch , pretty awesome amp & profiles.
There is so much good tones from this amp I think we're done for this amp , every single sweet spot is covered
