The 4:1 and 2:1 noisegates just cut everything (including guitar tone) below a certain threshhold (again, don't quote me on the technical mumbo-jumbo).

I often use both types of noisegates combined for really high-gain sounds. And this is mainly, because the normal noisegate can't be set high enough, without seriously affecting the guitar tone (doubler/sitar effect).
With super highgain, the 4:1 or 2:1 are dead silent, but once you start playing, you get the hum on top (which is removed only by the normal NG).

EDIT: plus the 2:1 and 4:1 noisegates slightly affect playing dynamics. It is subtle, but it is there...

So basically, I'd vote for a further improvement of the normal noisegate (if possible - it is already improved, but it is about 7 - 10% off from being perfect).

Or if it suits you guys: let us manually choose which noisegate to use on the NG dial. (but for me: do not get rid of the normal NG)

At Armin's site i believe (google search).
The explanation in GianFranco's tutorial is misleading because of the line:

- erase the internal flash memory. NOTE: all the rigs will be erased during this procedure! "

At Armin's site that line is the title of a new paragraph, with explanations following, while here it look like another line without explanation on how to proceed.

No big deal...

I am following recommended procedure for re-installing firware.
At one point, it asks me to erase the internal flash memory, but doesn't specify how...

Again, most profiles are fine, only some clean users' profiles are much too soft...

On the profiles that i mentioned, cranking the master volume all the way (10.0) is not loud enough for me to monitor them.
I am not touching the volume at the bottom right, since this adds saturation when pushed too much...

It makes auditioning those profiles for evaluation a pain, since monitoring is too low, even when master volume is cranked...
Forced to get into the cabinets and crank the volume there too...

Low output ones are mostly users profiles, especially clean ones:
i.e. Fender Concert series, Zo-DI-Yak, VAB clean, S.Mehl clean...etc

Ah, i thought that the cabinet volume was the best way to raise level without getting as much undesired saturation...?

Hey dudes, any way i can lock the cabinet volume, rather than the whole cabinet settings?
I am going thru a bunch of choices for a good clean sound, and would like to keep the cab volume high enough to get a decent level.
When i try to lock the volume, the whole cab is locked...
