I've been comparing various OD type pedals in front of the Kemper and then in front of my Lonestar. The pedals in front of the Kemper just don't sound like the pedals they are. In fact, I think a pedal in front of the Kemper makes my favorite profiles sound thin and less like a "real" amp. I tried using my new Bogner Red pedal in front of a Kemper clean profile and it sounds NOTHING like the Bogner Red pedal in front of the Lonestar clean channel.
I started messing with the Kemper on-board ODs and I think they sound way better than external Pedals in front of the Kemper. The Kemper Green Screamer sounds great since 1.6 so I guess I'll start using that. It's a shame though because the Bogner Red pedal in front of my Lonestar's clean channel is absolutely stellar and has so much flexibility!!!
Watcha think?

OK, this is the fourth time I've tried to post here without success today.
The upgrade to 1.6 went smoothly...more than I can say for the quirks of the website.
-
This upgrade went without a single issue for me.
I know some folks had some issue so I just thought I'd chime in on the positive side. -
The tone is nice, but, the playing is superb! Beautiful man, beautiful.

Man, that sounds awesome! Where's the profile?
-
I have tried both on many occasions...
There's no difference audible... (although, I bet Eric Johnson would probably have a different opinion)
-
I've read on this site a few times that the S/PDIF connection delivers a more "pristine" signal to the audio interface. My question is has anyone tried both and could you hear a NOTICEABLE difference? Or, is the difference only on paper?
-
Sorry if this has been covered, but why put a distortion pedal in the loop instead of in front ala guitar input?
-
Not my taste in music, however, the guitars sound awesome for this genre!!! Great job!!!

Great guitar tones for this genre.

Nice cool Floyd vibe.

It can't sound better than a Profile of a real Bogner XTC Red Channel...because a Bogner pedal can never sound better than a Bogner amp.
Well, here's the thing, the pedal offers you a lot of additional options after you've tweaked a profile. Take a look at the pedal. It offers additional gain options, voicings, EQs and even a variac...etc. I've asked the wife for one for Christmas!

I'm hearing a lot of great things about the Bogner pedals. I'm wonder how the Red pedal would sound in front of the Kemper loaded with a thick clean profile?
-
Just give it a try, it reads far more difficult than it is...
Will do...thanks.

I think this thread contains all the basics. If you have SPDIF connection on your audio interface it is a good advise to use these for reamping. This will make sure you have an optimal signal path without the need of a reamping device.
Best way to cable for reamping?Actually, that made me more confused.
-
I'm sure this has been discussed already, however, I did a search and could not find anything?
Anyway, what is the step by step, connection to connection method to re-amp? I'm assuming I use the Kemper direct out routing it to a DAW track. But, once recorded, how to I route the recorded direct track back into the Kemper?
-
I record the two mic setup and then compare the two wave forms up close. I determine which one is behind and then move the MIC used on that track and re-record. I do this until the newly recorded tracks match up.

What about a stand-by switch/soft-button? When changing guitars it would be nice to just hit a stand-by switch...or am I missing something?
