Geoff Whitehorn of Procol Harum

Just a quick update: my sticks ceased to be recognized for good. Sweetwater was very kind and sent me a new KPA ASAP (what a great company to deal with, btw!). It works like a charm (at least 2 days in), so thanks Ingolf for suggesting I contact my distributor!

Does anybody else have this issue with the wah wah effects; if you slowly pan heel to toe I hear 3-4 distinct expression pedal-generated "regions" with noticeable clicks, especially in the 40-70% range. Can anybody help me get around this issue? (I am using the Eureka eprom 2 by the way).
Thanks!!

I like the credit card idea, will try that. Thanks guys!!

So I got the Uno4Kemper - and immediately bent the prongs upon insertion! I've ordered a second Eprom. Can anyone give this electronically challenged clutz advice on not destroying the prongs??
-
OK - now it's working... (oh the fun!)
-
Yes I did try re-formatting. It it actually was recognized for a few minutes. The KPA actually formatted over this and I was able to export onto this. Then the KPA quit responding again. Multiple retries failed, though all files are visible still on my PC, as they were with my PNY stick. My Lexar does not say "by Micron", perhaps I can look for that next. Crazy, but thanks for the help! Nice people here *!*

I tried that Lexar stick - no difference. I'm really stumped now... can anyone help? Thanks

I would love advice on a great Honky Tonk profile to use in my cover band. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Hi whoever may read this note. I'm just curious why the forum's search engine is so limited. For example - there are hundreds of posts about USB sticks not working. If you type in "USB" - there are no results!! What? Does that make sense? There are many other examples I could give.
My humble request - improve the search engine capabilities to make this forum even greater. Thanks for your attention! Play on!

Hi eric_r, I have the same issue with USB stick going on right now with my 2 wk old KPA. Which new stick solved your issues?? Thanks!
-
Hi nice music... digging it right now!
-
No, I haven't tried to reformat on computer, thought it had to be Kemper formatted. I can try that. Of course I did turn on and off multiple times, hours in between as well.
As an aside - having just played with Procol Harum with Geoff Whitehorn last weekend, I thought you'd find it interesting that last year I did the same - in Germany of all places, Wuppertal!!
Thanks for your assistance of course!

No, second brand was different from the first. And the KPA DOES respond to USB cable, just not cards... anymore. System WAS recognizing the PNY just fine, don't get it. Talking about swapping out KPA for new one with dealer now.

Tried a bunch of Justin's profiles. Pretty harsh, sorry, except the Bulb Lead. Sitar? Nnnnot quite. No offense, keep on it, look forward to a new and improved version (possibly).
-
So my KPA in now 2 weeks old. I had formatted and begun using a mini USB stick (PNY) with no problems. Now the KPA will not recognize it, nor will it recognize a brand new one. My computer (PC) has no problem "seeing" these sticks and what's on them. Is my KPA defective??!

But... Geoff Whitehorn pointed to my rig and said "you got the black one!" - meaning the powered Kemper. He said he should have got that one. He has to rent a combo amp wherever he goes as stage monitor.
-
Yes, Geoff just started using the Kemper instead of his H & K Grandmeister 36 a couple of months ago. Does all his own profiling, doesn't use anything from the forum or from the factory. He's using profiles mostly of his old Marshalls plus Bogners.
He's an old buddy from many Procol gigs over the years and have played and partied deep into the night several times. We partied hardy into the wee hours of the morning last week along with most of Procol and Yes, who were all staying at the same hotel. Breakfasted together as well. Loads of fun.

Well I just did my first gig with my KPA of 10 days... with The Palers' Band and Gary Brooker of Procol Harum in Westbury, NY! Risky business taking a brand new rig on the road for such a big task, but their guitarist, Geoff Whitehorn, who also uses the Kemper, loved my tone! Yeah!!!
