The main thing you need in an overdriven sound is a cabinet to tame the fizzy highs. As long as you have that any distortion device is a potentially useful sound. Most of the time this would be the amp but plenty of great sounds are also possible without an amp.
-
do you have the bass boost active in the Kone part of the output menu? This is designed to replace the 6db drop in bass created when a cabinet is off the floor. However, if the cab is already on the floor it will create additional bass that isn’t needed.

I am not listening to any new music because I don't want it to influence any of my songwriting. Plus I still have tons of old songs to study in depth. Does that make me weird?
Yes

because the monitor out and speaker out share the same signal and you might not want to overload the inout of whatever you have attached to the monitor out.

Unfortunately not ?
it os one of the great oversights in the RM design. I used an RJM Mastermind before I got the remote and the ability to assign footswitches in the editor was a fantastic workflow. It would definitely be great to have this function in RM. this has been requested several times but there hasn’t been any feedback from Kemper to suggest they are considering it unfortunately. -
Personally, I think that would be a massive overkill that would make use of the KPA much more cumbersome for the vast majority of users.

If you haven’t saved any of your own presets then every Must be factory content. I would delete them all. The new OS has the factory presets hard coded into the OS so no need for anything else other than your own personal presets.

not currently possible as Ruefus said. No idea if it is planned or (if it is) when it might be possible. Definitely a feature I would love to see in RM though.

you can’t delete Guy as the 125 slots are fixed locations. Just initialise as piotrmaj suggested.

good point Burkhard I forgot about that option. However, it would still br REALLY nice to hace section presets available in RM ?

Bonus bug:
Open RM, slide right pane all the way to the right, making it skinny. Load different Rig. Make right pane wider (slide left). You'll get what is in the picture with no ability to resize columns (one has to resize the whole window to recover).
This is a known bug which I have reported a couple of times already.

I am only guessing here but I wonder if he issue is the Aux In volume is not turned off?
“The PROFILER Stage allows you to use Aux In along with one mono or stereo effect loop.
For all other PROFILER variants, the Auxiliary Input cannot be used while you have an Effect Loop active in your Rig, or while you are in PROFILER Mode, as the physical inputs are needed for a different purpose.
✓To prevent unwanted hum and noise, please remember to turn down the Auxiliary Input Mix when you are not using it.
The Aux In function can also be used to feed in a band monitor mix from a mixing desk, mix it locally with your guitar signal and, monitor the sum for example via in-ear monitors connected to the HEADPHONE output.”

For example - I can't find a Tone Junkie profile I really care for. Same for (gasp) Michael Britt.
Blasphemy, Blasphemy I say.
May you burn in the fiery pits of hell you heretic!!!!!

stratdude or go the whole hog and run the Kemper with a Variac for genuine Brown Sound ?
-
you can do either but USB to computer using rig manager is usually the easiest option. Just drag any profiles the you like to the My Profiler folder and drop them there.
-
I’ve been using SKB for my old rack gear for years and they work really well while also being pretty light.

It is worth bearing in mind that the Kone is not a full range or flat response speaker by default. It relies on the Kone DSP in the Kemper to make it flat for Full Range mode. Therefore, the results you get with another modelling device will be unknown until you try it. They may work really well together but they may not depending on your own tastes.
