so..... is there issues with this FW or is it just the profiles with different amp parameters?

There's an easy way to use RM 1.0 Public Beta #4 with 2.3.3., it works fine. You just need the little program "RunAsDate", here's the thread about it.
If you make a shortcut, you can use RM with 2.3.3 like normal.
For sure it's not very comfortable that the only RM-version from the Kemper-webside requires 2.4.0/2.4.1. So you need an old beta-RM with some tricks to use the last official firmware-version (2.3.3). Or you use the official RM with a firmware beta-version, strange anyway.....
Ah, that thread had escaped me somehow. And the app is interesting. But I realize I'm not a very prolific Windows user any more after years on a Mac.

CRAP!!! I updated to 2.4.1 yesterday... and I've been holding out 2.4 upgrade and keeping 2.3.3 but not using RM.. crap..Thanks Guenterhaas... I'll keep this in my pocket for next time..

though... I've been recording all day today and haven't noticed anything out of order sound wise... but then, I'm on acoustic today using only two profiles.. dohh

I've tried the "RunAsDate" workaround. Didn't work for me.
This really sucks. I wish Kemper would get it sorted out. Reminds me of my days with the Axe Fx II where your sound would change after every FW upgrade, yet you wanted to be able to use the new features of the new version (in this case Rig Manager).
I'll be trying 2.4.1 for the first time tonight. Hope I don't notice any changes from 2.3.3. Really hope I didn't buy any commercial profiles made with 2.4.0!

Don't ask me... iMac, Macbook Pro and Macbook Air, no Windows-computer around. There's just one Windows 7 left on my iMac's Parallel's Desktop. After working with Macs for years using Windows again -just for the RM - is quite a pita....
But there's no Mac-version available, so what to do....
@Der JD: "RunAsDate" only works with the old RM Public Beta 1.0 #4, not with the regular version from the webside. You just have to set the date back before the 28th of April and make a short cut, start the shortcut and RM will work normally. If you don't have the RM beta 1.0 #4 installer, write a PN, I'll send it to you.

Hi, I am running RM Beta #4 with fw 2.3.3 + RunAsDate with no problem. Just make sure to uninstall RM completely before installing RM beta#4.RM beta #4 can be downloaded HERE
I uploaded it there to help others, as it is no longer available on official Kemper download section.I still think, Kemper should release RM beta#4 without the date limit to help their customers. It should not take more time than 10-15 minutes.

Nevertheless......

This is very simple, just change the kaos.bin on your USB-stick to the version you want, the KPA will ask you to install the "update", even if it's an older version (f.e. 2.3.3 instead of 2.4.1). -
I did try that.
I just see USB Storage, but no update.
I'll try again
Thanks,
Gezza

Not working for me.
It does not install the update.

My profiles appear to sound the same to me, now that I got the Distortion Sense issue figured out.
I decided to move on and just do my project this weekend, since proving a difference or not doesn't make sense when what I'm hearing is GREAT in 2.4.1
-
Got it working.
You must insert the usb before switching it on.
Thanks,
Gezza.

My OS updating is finicky too, but you don't need to reboot with the USB in.
Just put it in. Pull it out. Set the knob to Tuner. Put the USB in. Set the knob to Browser.
Sometimes I have to do this a few time. Today, worked the first time. Others it always does. Mine is a bit pickier.
Maybe it's time to reformat the USB stick? I keep an extra for just that.

Upgrade: kaos.bin --> folder "OS Update" of the USB stick
Downgrade: kaos.bin --> root directory of the USB stick -
just upgraded.. sounds amazing .. i play mostly high gain stuff

Upgrade: kaos.bin --> folder "OS Update" of the USB stick
Downgrade: kaos.bin --> root directory of the USB stickI did the downgrade to 2.3 from 2.4.0 when I found out about the bass bug. I just deleted the kaos.bin file in OS update and pasted the 2.3 one in there. Didn't put it in the root. And when I upgraded to 2.4.1, I did the same thing. There isn't a different procedure, afaik.

That's exactly how I do my updates or downgrades, as soon as I put my USB-stick into the KPA (already switched on in Browser-mode), the KPA is asking for installing the new (or old) firmware.
With "changing the kaos.bin" I exactly meant deleting the one on the USB-stick and pasting the desired one (into the folder "OS Update" again).
