New Profiles from 2 NMV Plexi!

  • I just uploaded 17 new profiles(under George Alayon with recent dates) from 2 of my non-master volume Plexi replicas. One of them is a Metropoulos 68' 12,000 series modified by Dave Friedman with some extra filtering and 6CA7 tubes and a built in Variac set at 90 volts (Like the one he made with George from Metropoulos amp called Metro/Friedman which was built to be like VH Plexi) This amp has Amperex Bugle Boy preamp NOS tubes from the early 60's. The other Plexi was built by Jim from Scumback an another great tech which it's a hybrid from 68/69 Plexi. It doesn't have as much filtering as the Metro/Friedman. They both sound quite different.
I uploaded different settings with both amps "jumped" with volumes at 5 and also "non jumped" with the volume also at 5. The other profiles are with both amps maxed out and the tone controls at 5 and presence at 6.
I used the Fryette Power Station so I can crank them loud plugged into a custom made 4 x 12 made by Jim from Scumback with 70's spec with the black 1960B look. I blended the Scumback BH75, M75 and Celestion V30's with SM 57 closed mic and a Royer 121 on the M75.
Most of them are raw with no fx which was meant to be a starting point so you can try different pedals. I also have the ones labeled with "FX" at the end just to show how it sounds with pedals and other effects. I use these settings a lot so I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! Please let me know you all think. Thanks!

  • Prediction: You've done it again, George!

On paper, the amps look incredible, and I'm betting that with your skills, these Profiles are gonna sound awesome man, no doubt at all.

Thank you so very, very much brother!

PS: I sure hope you leave everything up on the Exchange, not least because until I've finished my El Capitan upgrade, which is taking forever, I won't be installing RM and therefor am waiting until then to catch up with all the freebie downloads of late. I know I can grab 'em from the Kemper site directly, but I'm more likely to miss something; I much prefer being able to select Rigs en-masse in RM and drag 'em to folders, as I'm sure you'll understand. Thanks again, bud!

  • Thanks! One thing I forgot to mention, if it makes a difference,I used my Strat with Fralin single coil pickups. I believe I used the 54 vintage ones. There's not a lot of gain so it's like plugging straight into the amp. If you need them again I can send them to you via Dropbox or anything else that would be convinient for you. Have a great weekend!

  • Here's a Blues/Track I did with the profiles a posted. I'm using the 68/69 Scumback Plexi on rhythm and the 68 Metro/Friedman for leads. I used a mild boost for the leads. I used my 95' Fender 56 reissue with a Warmoth neck and Fralin 54 vintage single coil pickups https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39920992/George Guitar tracks/Hellicrash Kemper_01.mp3

  • Thanks! Found some great ones there.

Great! Try using the hard compressor and play around with the parameters. Remember that I used a Strat with single coils. I don't know if it makes a difference since I'm new using the Kemper amp. But the profiles are meant to be strip down profiles which should give a good platform to use pedals in front of the amp. Thanks!

    Perfectionists. Gotta love 'em.

Not in your league of talent, but same here, George.

Nothin' like having your own personal bad-review writer in your back pocket (actually, hovering over your shoulder is what it feels like, no?). That way nothing a real-life reviewer writes is gonna phase you. Great preparation. LOL

    Sick playing, as always, George.
