It was so hard profiling the EVH
It must be because every other EVH I've tried just doesn't cut it. Whatever you did sounds worth the work and I will definitely be buying if everything is on par with the latest sample.

Display MoreAfter scrapping the EVH profiles for the third time, I decided to try an MXR graphic in the loop.
Pulled 6dB at 1K and there is a complete transformation !
Gone is the half open wah mid range that has been driving me mad.
Trying the juggle the treble and presence controls to get the mids and high end right was driving me mad.
I cannot believe how much better this amp sounds with he EQ in the loop.
I can finally get the EVH finished now and move onto the next amp.
Updated 3VH Blue Gain2TS. Please test and report back if you have time =]

Previously i've been noticing that in some profiles i've bought (or demos) recently that initially i liked it but after listening back i notice a bit of a cocked wah sound...i wonder if that's something a bit off with the profiling process for certain amp types. I haven't had a chance to try your sample yet, hopefully can try tonight.

Yup, and it drives me nuts. What is apparent is the Kemper needs to be "fooled" in many ways to create a better, more accurate profile. Mick has shared some good stuff before but the last one he shared really stands out. Some previous stuff I had of his that was good I tossed when I tried the new profile because it just beat them hands down to the point where they weren't needed. Definitely good things to come and you gotta love that the guy shares so much and really takes feedback seriously.

That's what I'm striving to avoid as well as fizzy 4k and low mid mush =]

If anyone has time to check out this EVH to Zilla Creamback, I'd really appreciate it.
The main thing I'm interested in feedback on is the EQ on the "X" button.
I live reamped a DI guitar into a full mix and EQed the sound to fit in the mix so it is a "mix ready" eq.
It may sound slightly thin if you play on it's own but should sit great with bass and drums.
I am doing mix ready EQ for all profiles that will be released.
I understand that every mix and guitar and tuning is different so this EQ should be a great starting point to the finished guitar sound.

Edit.... Here's Zilla V30 too. The creamback is pretty dark so it might be hard to judge. The V30 is brighter and clearer.

Thank you so much for doing this EQ thing, Mick! It's a great way to get your profiles to sit well in a mix with minimal effort.
Also, thank you for constantly improving on your profiles. I used a couple of the older ones on a project I was working on and they were excellent. Can't wait to try out the latest and greatest!
Thank you, Mick.
Thank you, Michael!!
Hi all, I just gave a quick drive to the last EVH profiles, and had a quick rhythm recording session with them, I think they are great and record very well
All tracks are raw, no mix. However, I did use my N21 color fuzz pedal on pseudo leads. Last bit is more muddy, but this was intended, as I play lots of stoner stuff ATM
profile used : tms 3VH GODZV30 Red DRV2
and the blue one on 'leads'
I used a jackson with duncan distortion
Thanks for the demo.
Sounds great but I think it may be a little dark sounding. Amp might need a touch more presence with the zilla cab.
Did you use the EQ on the "x" button?

Thx Mick, but I had the opposite feeling, it's a bit too bright / present to my taste, and no , I did not hit the X stomp. I like dark tones BTW and had a slight vol/tone pot rolldown ( 8-9 ) on my guitar.
Anyway I like it a lot, and this one is really cutting thru the mix, and brighter enough Vs my other favorite very hi gain profile ( Cameron CCV from 11/11 studio)
Thanks.
That's perfect then.
The x eq makes it a bit more present so I think it's all good.
Thanks a million for the feedback.
Onto 6505.
This amp is SO much easier to get right.
10 minutes to set up and it sounds killer.
Here is MXR Custom Badass OD to 6505 to Recto cab.

Man if I could only mix like that! Everything is nice and clear, yet full at the same time.
