It would be nice to have this effect as a stomp or to add to the tremolo more parameters so we could replicate this. Of course, being able to tap or set the tempo would be great! ?

Specifically, my request in more than a simple mute, it's more like Tom Morello use it.

Do you have a link to a good example of this sound? It might be possible...

Hmm. Seems that for the dedicated expression inputs, the KPA requires momentary switches, so you'd have to click once for "on" and once for "off." That's going to be cumbersome. Maybe it's possible somehow with a MIDI control? I don't have a way to test that.

    Try this:

Set up a Morph of a continuous FX parameter that can silence the KPA (If you want the amp to react to it like a switch on a guitar, it will need to be in a Stomp Slot) with Morph Rise And Fall Times set to the minimum values.

Assign the Morph button to Momentary Mode.

A question to ask yourself: When you set up the Morph, do you want sound only when you are not pressing a switch, or only when you are pressing a switch? That will determine if the base sound is silence or not

Try adding Loop Mono to Slot A, and use the above settings.

With nothing connected to the Loop, 100% Mix will silence the guitar.

This sometimes adds noise if nothing is plugged into the loop. Better to just assign an eq with the volume turned down?

If the EQ Volume can be set low enough to mute the sound, that can be an option, too.

I got a chance to try all of those ideas the other night. Using mometsry swichtes makes it easy enough to press just about as quickly as I can tofggle a pickup selector switch. However, none of them produce a Kill Switch type effect. i can push the footswitch faster than the Kemper can react so if I press fast enough the guitar stays on. I presume this is actually intentional as a way to stock audio clicks or something. However, part of the Morello type effect is the switching click. Unfortunately,I think I have to admit defeat on this one. It seems the only way to get the effect currently is to use the guitar pickup selector. Which makes the OPs request a very valid idea.

That makes a lot of sense Alan. I use midi program changes live and you have to move the command ahead of where you want it to change. I also use control change to automate the eq set to zero as a mute in a couple of places. It is never instant.

Thanks guys for all the replies. Didn't have the time to try these out, seems like Wheresthedug was knd enough to get this done.

Now it's in the hands of devs, I hope. :)
